  1. I think he's bang average. But it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth that we basically got him fit for another L1 club. He was woeful until recently.
  2. Would clearly have been much more effective up front alongside Ikpeazu. Perhaps even Loft. He had a bit of pace and plenty of endeavour. In the right system with a bit of time I think he could have been as asset.
  3. You can just say it all you like. I'll say it with you, if you like. But that doesn't take away from the fact that he's really poor in front of goal. But as I've said previously, I'd rather keep him. If nothing else, playing him as meant we've been able to change our style of play to one which is considerably more watchable.
  4. Not saying he doesn't have some worth in the side. But scoring himself isn't and will never be one of them. He's a 1 in 5 guy.
  5. Are you actually suggesting that's impressive for someone who's played 10 seasons or so in football? We don't half set low bars and standards here on OVF.
  6. What an insane take. The guy is 29 almost, not 19. He's not suddenly going to improve his shooting after all these years. He is and will always be rubbish in front of goal. His career proves that.
  7. Can't say I know a lot about Young. But he had a great time at Swindon in the league we found it so difficult to get out of. He's at a great age, 22. He's 6 foot 1 and looks pretty well built, so shouldn't be lacking physically. Exactly the type of player we should be going for. I might even flash a smile tomorrow if he signs.
  8. Suppose they're offering him more money, and also the chance to live in and around the London area which will always be appealing. It is what it is. It's a shame for us as we've got him fit and he was starting to have a positive effect on the team. But let's see who we're seemingly signing tomorrow. And while Loft is our only recognised striker currently, I'm happy to forget the last X number of weeks and throw full support behind him if he starts to feature more. A goal from him this weekend is all we want, and I'm pretty sure he wants that too.
  9. All fair enough and understood. My apologies.
  10. Well I just don't see how a half hearted, tongue in cheek comment is mocking anybody, and especially a dead girl from decades ago. But I'll say no more. Other than that I could no doubt name those that reported it...
  11. How could anyone possibly be offended by such a thing?
  12. Don't be too upset. I think neither Anne or Ryan are likely to read my posts here.
  13. I just don't see how we wouldn't as it would be absolutely ridiculous, considering Thomas has gone back, Garrity is injured and Loft may as well be a Cactus.
  14. I don't know why people are having a mental breakdown. I never said Ikpeazu doesn't have some worth as a player. I would also prefer to keep him now that we've got him fit at long last. But we've lost considerably better players in the past and done alright. There's not a chance the club would allow him to leave unless they had an adequate replacement. Surely. But whatever you think of him, he's a striker that scores less goals than some defenders. That's a fact, not an opinion.
  15. It's called not having a pot to piss in, sadly.
  16. When we're worrying about a striker possibly leaving who's scored all of one goal for us, you know there are some major things that need addressing at the club and quickly.
  17. I've given the manager and club a fair bit of stick this season. I feel at least some of that is fully justified. But signings like Arblaster, Devine, Williams and hopefully Gore only shows the progress of the club, even if they're only loanees.
  18. And the alternative is..... Not to cry a river over a loanee going back to his club.
  19. And was pretty ordinary for the others. He's a good player and will get better, but losing Arblaster was a bigger blow. Let's see who we bring in to replace him, if anybody, before we get too down.
  20. We'll be rate. It's not like Devine was tearing it up every week. He had some good games, some poor ones. Ultimately I expected more from him in terms of goals and assists output all things considered. He was better played deeper but he didn't really start to do that until quite recently.
  21. Playing a 5-2-2-1 formation, we're still left with Ojo, Weir and Sang for those two deeper midfield places. Garrity can play there also and then there's Walters who will need to play games sooner or later if he's to really improve. People need to relax. Devine was a talent but ultimately got one assist in the league and two goals, one being a penalty. They're not impossible stats to replace.
  22. Ripley Sang Williams Smith Debrah Grant Ojo Devine Wilson Chislett Ikpeazu Subs: Leutwiler, Iacovitti, Shorrock, Lowe, Weir, Massey, Loft That's a really decent looking starting 11. Add another striker to the squad in this window if possible and we'll be alright. Just realised I completely missed out Garrity too somehow. Taxi for me.
  23. A few years back he was seen as a big prospect at Liverpool. Obviously it's not gone the way he would have wanted of late but is still at a very good age to turn things around. A decent loan spell with us will certainly help that. A year or so ago we wouldn't have had a chance of signing any player on a club like Liverpool's books, so credit to all involved.
