  1. Yeah for sure. This half a season stuff needs to be ironed out imo I don't think it's acceptable and just adds pressure to the team when they just chip off elsewhere The duration should be all or nothing the parent club just has to suck it up if a player does well, and equally the receiving club if the loan’s a dud, if a whole season ‘contract’ is agreed. If clubs want the flexibility of recall then only a 5 month (ie Aug through December) loan contract should be agreed. Reduces the January window uncertainty. Alternatively just only allow 5 month loan contracts that’s arguably what the season-long ones are anyway.
  2. Hopefully the adage if they’re good enough they’re old enough plays out. Weir and Mighten are arguably as experienced (though younger) in terms of EFL ‘men’s’ football than Tom Sang, Jesse and the Yak It’s uncomfortable because we’re not used to it……. yet. Regards the midfield now we have the Ghost (Kacper - sorry) in defence Jason Lowe and Gore could be a DCM option with Weir further up?
  3. Didn’t we play Peter Swan up front for a while when Foyle was long term injured? A vague recollection and may have only been for a couple of games or so - think it was the season we were first relegated from the Championship/equivalent….Oh!
  4. Why aren’t all those so confident we’ll definitely be relegated not posting that they are piling in at 9-1? I’m not a gambler nor am I certain we’ll go down but must say I’m tempted to place a bet to potentially cover the cost of my L2 season ticket. Who knows I might even see Flitters down the bookies doing the same with the player budget so he can then get a host of new signings in the Summer ahead of another promotion season.😉
  5. Not sure if your recovery after a dislocation reference is tongue in cheek or wishful thinking but there is a possibility we won’t see Uche play for us again this season (or after for that matter). Anything between 6 weeks and 3 months depending on the nature of the dislocation and the sport is what a professional athlete has to consider. Would think a footballer, especially one with Uche’s ‘style of play’, would be closer to the 3 month mark for them to be 100% ‘fit’.
  6. Think I’ve seen somewhere Carlisle are interested in signing Marriot. Probably see him as better value than Young from Bradford.
  7. Both Blackpool and Barnsley did it for all their restarts. Charlton passed back to their centre half who was standing in a similar position to Connor Ripley when he was receiving the ball. Most teams do pass it back to a player who then passes/launches it in the general direction of the players that have now had time to run forward from the kick-off. It’s just for us and at least Blackpool and Barnsley that player has been the goal keeper. I don’t see the issue. What’s frustrating for me is it ending back at Connor’s feet from a free kick or throw in in the opposition’s half or when one of our corners breaks down. I’ve not counted how frequently this happens it’s just a little annoying when it does.
  8. Well they’ve certainly got the Pedigree and will probably Win a lot.
  9. Just seen on X he’s going Blackburn…Rovers.. I’ll get me coat!
  10. Bit of a generalisation BJ? I’d guess just about half of the teams we’ve played (10) would think that (we’re easy to play against) ie the ones that have beat us. The others would find it difficult to say that if they haven’t beaten us.
  11. It’s certainly a poser BJ has been so adamant about being correct regarding footballer contracts, he must be in the know. Do clubs just add what is owed for the remainder of a contract to a player’s transfer fee? There’s always talk about selling players to get their wages ‘off the books’ to save money, how does that work if a club has to pay up what’s left on their contract anyways, if they choose to leave?
  12. It’s dragged because he’s overseas, been at United’s training camp in Dubai this last week. Guess we’ll know tomorrow if United have now returned. No reason for it not be announced tomorrow if it is a done deal, gives him more time to meet and train with the squad etc…
  13. What I like about the Mirror article is that it ‘bigs up’ the club (Andy Crosby particularly) too ( not just Brazier) on how good we are with giving young talent from ‘elite’ clubs opportunities to shine. It’s obviously a load of tosh about the potential big transfers but otherwise puts the club in a good light regards young player development.
  14. If a player can’t get fit after being here over 3 months then there may well be an underlying medical issue.
  15. It might have been a military style medical and they noticed he’d got flat feet - or possibly two left ones 😉
  16. Deep Throat* strikes again Osh? Has your source said anything about Dan Gore signing today? *Disclaimer - For clarity I mean Deep Throat in the Watergate Scandal context. Not the alternative I was made aware of yesterday after an earlier post - what a sheltered life I’ve led.🍌🍆
  17. If it was, with our defence I’d be picking an extra keeper 👐🏼😉
  18. Haven’t Bradford already loaned a striker to Stevenage this week? How many ‘L1-level’ strikers have they (Bradford) got? Suggests they don’t think Young is going anywhere and have put a price tag on him accordingly.
  19. How much is Jordan Rhodes costing Blackpool? We did something similar (signed a ‘proven’ goal scorer) with Taylor last January but are there any goal scorers warming the bench in the Championship (rather than L1) we could chuck the transfer fund at in wages (if Uche stays or goes)?
  20. Agree, but your last sentence is the kicker, along with if we’re made an offer we can’t refuse.
  21. Uche too, Whichever end of the spectrum we are in judging his ability, apparently we’ve at least two other L1 clubs prepared to pay us money for a player that cost us nothing (wages apart) when they’ve only been with us for just over 3 months. There’s still nearly half a season to go and the transfer window is still open so am in the camp of waiting until the end of April before commenting on how good/bad/indifferent our recruitment (for this season) has been.
  22. Yes indeed. Osh, has your ‘deep throat’ sent you Dan Gore’s medical report yet
  23. I’d like to see him play with JW and Chizzy. Might be no coincidence Uche’s recent better form has correlated with Willo’s return and Ethan playing better with our recent change to playing 2 up front too.
