  1. Hard to breakdown is not a term I've heard used Osh. We've got one of the worst defensive records in the division.
  2. We generally cack ourselves and wake up on the hour mark when it dawns on us the opposition aren't actually much cop.
  3. I'm not sure Plymouth are comparable myself. Capable of gates twice our size and bigger budgets than ourselves. They have utilised the loan market excellently. Yet despite Azaz being one of the outstanding players last season he wasn't recalled by Villa and farmed out elsewhere. Plymouth also saw a first season of consolidation followed by substantial progress ( 7th ). Then promoted. Whereas we have stagnated in our league position. Plymouth are a miles bigger club than ourselves. My goal as a Vale fan having seen the Rudge years is for a sustainable club and decent entertainment. Not sure this tippy tappy vision of a League one club provides the latter. Other than the last 3 1/2 home games I've been bored rigid.
  4. A right wing back with an assist ? What is this unknown magic people talk of ?
  5. Was refreshing in those games that the player with the most touches was not Ripley !
  6. Agree. The booing of both him and Massey is shameful and pathetic.
  7. That's fair enough mate. I praised him for two outstanding tackles v Wigan in injury time where he proper bust a gut. Also looked ok in a cameo v Blackpool ( have to take into account we were 3 up ). However other than that my personal opinion is he's looked lazy and disinterested. If he showed the commitment he did v Wigan fans get behind that. He's a Division 3 player so has many faults. We accept that. Won't we won't accept is a lazy attitude. That to me is how he's come across. Needs to show more desire to get in the box instead of ambling around and then the fans will be on board when he gets subbed off because he's cream crackered.
  8. One thing I guarantee is we won't actually know. It will be ' undisclosed ' . Leaving the forum open to rumours and in the knows as to whether we've been mugged off or done to Charlton what Bristol did to us with Loft.
  9. Sometimes though it's not necessarily the goals. He could really help Alfie May. Look at Emile Heskey. Often derided. Picked by numerous England managers for what he offered to the team as a whole rather than pure stats. Uche and Clarke-Harris are totally different players.
  10. Not sure that's quite right mate ? Wasn't named amongst subs. You don't have a fitness test at half 2 and then join the bench ? Rules and regs apply surely?
  11. Bj is right about Uche. At 2.55 pm he wasn't even in the squad. Dumped completely. Despite the cult chanting he'd offered next to nothing ( so equal to Loft ). However since the more direct style he's looked a different proposition. As has our attacking play as a whole. Play direct Uche is an asset. Play tippy tappy he's anonymous.
  12. Young on loan ?, instead of paying 200k. Good move that would be 🤣
  13. You'd imagine Alfie May would be a great foil for him at Charlton.
  14. To be fair Warren they are a division above and the gulf was huge.
  15. Probably says we been chasing him all summer ☀️.
  16. He surely has to be better than Balmer no maybe about it or it's a pointless signing if he isn't.
  17. Was it Boro that Ojo went off injured? That's a month ago today already. Someone did post an injury timeline on here. We need him back ASAP.
  18. His size is what I like. We've needed a physical unit. Can't profess to knowing anything about the sweaty socks league other than it's a 2 horse race every year. It's obviously not worked out for him. Let's hope he's a fixture in our defence till May.
