One good season followed by two awful ones is not an improvement. Has not all been gash apart from the Rudge era. 1050s we were very good. Early 70's under Gordon Lee we were good. The team put together by Horton with Brammer, Bridge-Wilkinson was very good. Due to the size of the support base we have, we are always going to have periods of struggle. Vale are going to need to win half of their remaining games to stand a chance of avoiding relegation. That is never going to happen.

A big problem is Moore's length of contract. I am guessing Moore knew the squad was crap and did not want to risk getting the sack if Vale got relegated. So he stuck out for a long contract to ensure a good pay off if that happened. If that is the case why weren't we looking at other candidates instead of caving in to a contract that is going to cost the club loads to sack him. Unless Flitcroft wanted him at all costs. I am not saying it would have been any different under Ainsworth, but it could never have been any worse

Feel so sorry for Jack Shorrock. He is only 16 years old and Derby have targeted him all game, This is going to ruin his confidence

Seriously, I would consider bringing Pope back as an impact sub for the last 10 to 15 mins of each game. There is no way he would be any worse than what we have. At least he would run through a brick wall for the club and more

We are seven points from safety now. We will need three wins just to get to safety, providing the other teams all lose. We only have twelve games left. We have absolutely no chance of staying up

We have a definite problem on the left with Shorrock. He is a very talented and promising winger. But no way is he a wingback or full back. He is not a natural defender. But we have no choice. Thank you Mr Flitcroft

To be honest, all season we have been trying to get our so called forwards to score goals and they have all (I say all through gritted teeth) failed miserably. To be fair they have been all over us all 2nd half. The only surprise was that the goals didn't come earlier. We did play well first half. The defence played really well for 88 minutes. But in the end we got overrun, at home by the second to bottom club in the league. That is the really worrying part. On current form, I doubt our players are dismissive of anyone. And there lies the biggest problem. The players confidence is absolutely shot. The Fleetwood players will be looking at this game as one of their few chances to get something and will be up for it. Our players may well be really worrying of getting absolutely nothing again. We don't just need an early goal. We need an early couple of goals, to stop us being a bag of nerves. Just can't think of who is going to score them. Very true, which again proves that Flitcroft is not very good at his job I was just trying to explain why these types of players are not as abundant as they once were. I was not trying to give Flitcroft an excuse. Because I don't think he has one. He thought he could bring in another Arblaster or Devine. Well he couldn't and it has left us high and dry.
