I'll be renewing for next season, whether L1 or L2, Flitcroft or no Flitcroft. Because football is my game and Port Vale are my club, like they have been since I was eight years old. It's nearly sixty years since I started following them and despite promotions and relegations, good owners and bad, the highs and lows that inevitably come, they're still my club and will be till the day I die. (And maybe beyond - although a wise man once told me that some people serve their Purgatory on earth. 😏)

Maybe I have got it wrong; maybe Flitcroft is the problem. I just don't think so.

Recruitment is the responsibility of the manager, end of. It was Andy Crosby who dismantled the promotion side and Andy Crosby who failed to recruit new signings. It's not the job of the DoF to find new players - the manager needs to know he can work with them and that they can play his system. The DoF arranges the salary and draws up the contract. So it's the manager who is to blame for this rather than the DoF. What manager - and I include both Darrell Clarke and Andy Crosby in this - would have taken the job knowing that Flitcroft was going to carry out the recruitment? It's so blindingly obvious that I can't understand why others can't see it.

I wondered how long it would take for someone to turn on Carol. Sooner than I thought. Without Carol and Kevin the club would have been wound up by Smurthwaite trying to recoup what he hadn't spent. If we were lucky a phoenix club would be playing in the Midland League with home games in Kidsgrove. Think about what might have been before pointing the finger at Carol.

The only time I remember hearing anything from the Kop was when we sang YNWA. They don't like it.

Rob, I have a problem every time I post while quoting someone else because random blank lines are being added - that's if I can post at all; usually the quoted text is turning blue as if the text was being selected and the keyboard turns off. I'm using a Samsung phone on Android. Any idea what it might be?
