Apart from Peterboroughs goal in the first half it’s a replica of that.

4 parked buses. Deeper than a sea diver. No focal point up top to counter. It’s a game of attack and defence.

Should be 4 down. The outcome is inevitable.

It sort of is, but I must admit we are defending with more urgency in numbers.

Carol - Bolton are Championship ready.  That is the level you need to achieve.  We are non-league ready at the moment. 😡

She wasn’t referring to the football. She was referring to our premier league level community project and feeding the poor.

Is there any rumour that the max wage at Port Vale is set at £3,500 a week? I'd heard a few are on more than that?

Probably. We certainly have not been ever able to buy any proven, decent, league 1 player. The few we have were never proven when bought.

  4. Garrity and Chizzy are excellent league 2 players but I’m not convinced even they would be week in week out in any solid league 1 team, certainly not a top half one.

Good players, but unfortunately we have far too many sub par duffers who make them look better than they are.

She will open her purse next season then when she releases the accounts she will get hammered online again because more debt has occurred

I suggest she won’t open her purse and will get hammered because of more debt due to nobody going to watch awful league 2 football.

I don’t get this idea from where she will be generous with spending. The money on the squad should have been spent in the summer after we had a season of record gates and momentum.

Who trusts DM to rebuild and become a successful manager of PVFC in L2 next season?

Who trusts Carol to open her wallet and find the funds for a respectable squad?

  7. I’d love to hear a genuine case for us winning this because I’ve been trying to use my imagination all week to come up with a way it could happen but just can’t see it.

This team has been so bad I had more hope in my heart for a win when we played Man City.

Despite them being a plastic club, I don't see us as a step up from them in terms of wages or potential success?

It’s a problem. I mean there are few clubs in the football league left who we can guarantee we can offer more success than at the moment. The idea we were a league 1 sleeping giant has been truly exposed. There will certainly never be any Championship football without some serious, almost unimaginable change to the club. If you spent £10m on the club over the summer, I doubt we’d even get a guaranteed play off place in league 1 at the moment.

What appeal is there? There was this idea we were a friendly, family club with brilliant owners, but that looks hard to justify with the losses and inability to stem the decline.

League 2 feels more like a forgotten, graveyard league more than ever.

  9. Letting go of Worrall who was one of the few players we had with high end league 1 experience with Millwall was a stupid, moronic decision.

How Michael Brown managed to convince him to sign with us after we got relegated last time to league 2 and he had just been promoted to the championship with Millwall where he had been a regular was truly a wonderful bit of business.

Flitcroft never came close to anything like that.

Yes, it is in part but it's not just down to him. It's also, in my view, down to a) having to take off a half-fit Uche Ikpeazu against Exeter because otherwise the guy could well have picked up another injury b) not having not alternative strikers due to him having someone else's rubbish squad. So, yes, while Moore was in charge and perhaps responsibility lies there - what was he supposed to do when Ikpeazu runs out of steam? Also why isn't some of the blame laid at the feet of the players who bottled it and were on the pitch, unlike the manager who can't directly affect their in-game decisions?

I'm not saying Moore doesn't take SOME responsibility but I don't think it is solely his fault either.

That’s true, but I didn’t see much of an effort to tighten things up and even in his own interview he told them “more of the same” which is mad given that no way were we going to keep up the first half tempo for 90 mins.

Why the need to go for these things for the plaudits? The club shouldn’t be trying to do the work others are already doing. We’re supposed to be a football club.

Carol wants a Damehood and given the quality of the football team she has overseen it won’t be for services to football.

The best post I’ve seen in months and articulates my thoughts perfectly.

Carol inefficiently overspent (with good intentions) and we’ve made a real hash of cost-cutting, resulting in a horrible 18 months in which being a fan has been horrible and folk are lashing out.

We will be OK moving forward, even if it takes a couple of seasons to compete as we undo this mess.

    Well said mate.

Overspent or not spent enough on what was needed?

No messing about this summer trying to be clever with "progressive ball playing defenders" and "aligning with the values of the club".

    Winners.

Let's raid Crawley/Accrington/Newport/Morecambe/Harrogate/Barrow etc for their best players.

    Proper men. Aggressive. Hate losing.

Hate losing? After having been at those clubs?
    Poor sods must be suicidal!
