Another dramatic week for Port Vale

Phew, it’s been a news-heavy week at Vale Park. If you’ve missed any of the stories, here is OVF’s round-up.

The week begins with Vale skipper Carl Dickinson expressing concern over the pay cut he has been offered.

There are interesting comments from two current Vale players. Anthony Grant’s comments seem to suggest Vale will make an external appointment while Chris Birchall says the Vale players have been left in limbo after the departure of Rob Page

OVF asks if, in the light of the managerial changes, should Vale extend the season ticket deadline?

After BBC Radio Stoke claim that Vale have not approached Accrington’s John Coleman there’s no official word from the club. However,  Chairman Norman Smurthwaite takes to Twitter to claim that a new managerial appointment is weeks away.

And finally, former Vale keeper Chris Neal opts to join Fleetwood.

OVF takes issue with the Chairman’s tweets asking if they miss the point.

And late at night, the Louis Dodds’ move to Shrewsbury is confirmed with the forward issuing a thank you to Vale fans.

The OVF discussion article is whether the Valiants are being too slow in replacing Rob Page.

Two more departures from Vale Park. Eastleigh announce that they have signed Richard Duffy on a two-year deal and that is swiftly followed by Michael O’Connor tweeting that he is leaving the club.
