York apparently paid 300k for him & in his first season he’s banged in 15 goals alongside 10 assists in a team that struggled near the bottom of their league. I don’t think there’s a huge difference in levels between the national league & league 2. They’re obviously going to make some profit. As I’ve said it’s definitely a risk but I would fancy him to bag some goals at that level. Showing some intent if it’s true I like it

People moan when we dont get strikers then when we potentially go after one scoring goals over the last few seasons some still moan 🙂

Just out of curiosity who would you go for & what would you spend? 26 is a good age

I know it wouldn't happen but in an ideal world if i was paying 650k i would try and have a pubt on Macauley Langstaff who is 27 and i think he is going into the last year of his contract 🙂 we should of gone for him for 50k when he was at Gateshead,a player scoring in non league who has continued it in league two....... oh

Yeah I've also just seen the rumour that we're in for Ronan Curtis. Was discussed on ale and the vale this week.

He was excellent at Portsmouth but then suffered a major injury, they then let him go because of concerns if he could get over it but then he rocked up at Wimbledon and proved himself again it seems

Some players are unfortunate not to get snapped up. There’s more than a handful at lower league level who are capable of stepping up. I get your concern but if this is true I’d be happy with it, people moan that we don’t push the boat out & spend especially on a striker & moan if we’re bringing in players on a free. 25 goal involvements in national league last season in a struggling side. Don’t think the jump to league 2 is that big myself. Should be fine

Personally if we were going to spend that sort of money in the national league then i would sooner go for Tolaj but as you say there are players who can do a job and if true then i wont be opposed to Akinyemi

You’d imagine it’d be someone on the windup as with that record he’d surely cost a few bob. The sort of player would love to see us invest in though definitely.

I have seen some say if they sold him it would anywhere from 350k to 500k 😮

Seen a couple of york fans saying we're signing their striker Dipo Akinyemi. 15 goals and 10 assists in a struggling team last year. That's certainly the type of player we should be having a gamble on.

I wouldn't be against that Mellor me owd fruit, strong and has pace they say

    As a minimum expectation yes.

Depends when he is sold really. Scoring in under 17 matches doesn't have the same weigh of scoring goals in League one.

Yes and he has done both

you dont know a lot about football do you and how things go? come on be honest me owd fruit,I am 175% he will go for a lot more than 300k,there you go i dont know a lot about maths either

He has got to be worth at least a million quid for his potential alone.

I know he is at Everton but Man City are after one of the England u17's keepers and they are talking about a fee of 10m so for an u17 international scoring a goal every game for the country then who knows,it's whatever someone will pay

  9. I see Crewe have offered new deals to 5 players but expect a couple to leave if not more

Rio Adebisi(I actually thought he looked ok),Luke Offord(they expect him to move higher up the leagues),Chris Long(always injured and a cheat 🙂 ), Elliott Nevitt(I guess he will have interest) and Baker-Richardson

Probably already mentioned but  Bradford have signed Sarcevic & Byrne from Stockport. Looks like they’re going for it.

They do every season but for whatever reason it never works for them, you would think though at some point it will, just hope thats not next season

Agreed. Injury has ruined his career. Loved when him and Burgess were playing at the top of their game . Kept Conlon out of the team on merit.

Pity how his career has panned out really for him.

A bit like Alex Jones, did well here then chose to go Bradford for the money and sadly injury then went on to affect his career

I was underwhelmed by the Alex yesterday. They say they've got a good number out injured but they looked uninspired going forward and a fair few of their players are little more than walking yellow cards.

I know they pat themselves on the back about 'the Crewe way' more than actually is the case, but that didn't team didn't seem to have any Crewe DNA about it at all.

They seem to think they will go one better next season as this is just the start but they didn't impress me one bit
