Hi folks,
I completely hold my hand up here in joining in but - can we please return this to rumours and not have the political posts seeping in.
I will be removing the old ones from here (including mine - I was as guilty as anyone of taking the thread off topic).
A reminder - transfer news, rumours and speculation only please!
Oh come on Rob! There's more chance of Boris Johnson signing for Vale than some of the other rumours on here! 🤣🤣🤣
I'll get me coat...

I know loft is the butt of jokes and will always be the yardstick for which flitcrofts reign will be judged by and yes he had a dreadful season. But we didn’t purposely go out and sign someone who was going to perform that badly, I just think something went wrong for him as soon as he got here, there’s no way he’s been this bad all his career.
100% agreed. I also think Loft - like sssoooo many other Vale players was shoehorned into a system that didn't suit his strengths and played out of position. I still think he can do a good job for us in EFL2. I know I'll get shot down for that but, hey ho.

You are the king of the transfers on here mucker but I can not see that one happening.
He’s done brilliant for Ipswich and I’m sure Ipswich will keep hold of him.
And if he was to go, it would easily be to a championship club
Agreed. Personally I think it's cobblers. But, then again, this is a the rumours thread 🤣🤣🤣
Would love to see him at Vale Park. Lovely footballer.

Apologies if this is already doing the rounds but have heard 'Martin Kelly' rumour???
Anyone?
DM - i've heard this is close to a defo deal. Again only a rumour but he'd be a great signing - even at 34yrs old.

We will get around the £400k mark for him and maybe with a bit of luck, closer to £500k
Brian - how does this compare to you saying about the kid at York City and the price they'd want for him, yesterday...??
Genuine question m8

650k was being banded about yesterday I think? I wouldn't be surprised if Vale made an enquiry reading between the lines and have politely been told to get stuffed and/or York's valuation of him is a bit ridiculous/more than we want to pay. That said I don't blame them he's probably their best player and scored the goals that basically kept them up, you can't put a price on that from York's point of view.
BUT, deals can be done on something like that...?? £3-400k now, another £200 if he makes "X" appearances or scores "Y" goals - plus a sell-on clause if we sold him to a club in the Championship/Prem...??

They will easily be looking to double their money and it looks like the Chairman is trying to push the price up further as well
Always strikes me as funny that we're all too willing to say things like this but, when we think about Garrety or Chissie leaving if someone came in for him/them - well, we'll only get £3-400k for him.
Also, if Bailey does get bought for squilions, will that give us the budget to shell out on a player like this...??
I'd love someone like that to come to Vale Park, not only to score (hopefully) a bg full of goals, but excite the crowd with that sort of arrogant attitude. Can see him running on to a cross from Curtis, smashing it in the net at the Hamil and running straight over to the Railway paddock for the adoration! 😍
Right - lets put the gin back in the freezer...

Has anyone else heard any more rumours about Dipo Akinyemi...?? My mate at Vale says we're making a strong interest in him.
Its only a rumour I've been told.

So league 2 team is starting take shape.
Regular starters for me .
Ripley
Chislett Garrity Curtis
Dipepa Uche (if staying least entertaining when fully fit)
Icavetti should be solid enough in league 2 if paired by a pacy leader defender .
Debrah is ok but i think needs work .
Smith can play if up against big target men anyone with speed of thought no not for me .
Sang could do quite well in league 2 but mustnt be anywhere near the defence third.
Ojo should be good enough but if attitude is anything go by better to move on
So we got a five a side team up to yet the rest well they can play when there up against certain teams but I'd still like 6 more new starters in our team
Subs bench is huge upto yet
Agreed. I know there's a lot of comments about Debrah but I genuinely think he's down on confidence after playing his first real year in such a crappy side. I think if Moore can grab this team by the scruff of the neck and get some confidence in him and have a handful of better players come into the side to play in then he'll start to do better.
