I watched him quite closely ( I know that sounds weird ) early on maybe October time at a home game.

Never ever showed desire to get on the end of crosses and seemed to be on the edge of the box just meandering instead of at the business end.

That's because that's not the way he plays. Someone posted on here some time ago that Gasheads said he's best playing on the break with the ball played down the chanell and trying to turn players. Think he did this against us before.

We're just not using him at what he's best at. Sounds a common theme at Vale Park right now.

Also, I'm with @Brian Johnson I think (from what I've heard Moore is going to be given a lot more to play with in the budget.

First we'll know if Monday when the retained list comes out, eh...

IF Carol does want us straight back up then, like Wrexham and Stockport, we'll need to splash the cash

if thats the case carol will get a rude awakening when it comes to season ticket sales in the summer.

    And thats your choice brother.

Interestingly, I was listening to the A&V pod this morning; as Steve says - they're all angry and hurting right now, arent we all.  But, give it till the middle of June and we'll all be desperate for the season to start and get down to Vale Park in August, have a beer, see all the faces we know....

Add to that, IF we keep one or two of the chaff - and we can all carry on hating on them on here, but we add some good signings as well, then we're bound to want to get down the Vale and watch/support them, arent we...??

Even Bezzer will renew his ST.  You mark my words.

I can’t agree. Not with this lot, usually I would as tearing a squad apart rarely works. But this lot aren’t interested and don’t show any bottle. Grant, Massey ect aren’t good enough regardless of what position they are played in. Jones, Deborah, loft, Massey, Lowe, I don’t think are league 2 quality.

Yep - I agree with most of that.  BUT we simply don't have the money to py up everyone's contract and bin them all off.  Thats not realistic - I just don't see it happening.

    Just my 2' worth brother.

  4. I think some people on here are going to get a very rude awakening.  This is NOT FIFA Manager; we need some L2 and some L1 players; I think there will be more kept than shown the door.

I also think if we play players in the roles they are supposed to play in then you'll also see better performances out of some of them.

Again, we are going with this small mentality that we are just little Port Vale, so , who would want to buy us or play for us. That mentality needs to stop.

We are only one of a very limited number of clubs that can call themselves a professional football club, that is unique in its own terms and anybody whi is anybody would see it being a privilege to be involved with a professional football like playing for Port Vale, working for Port Vale or owning Port Vale.

Also, you can not make a statement like "I don't see many people banging on the door to buy this place" why would you? Are you the owner or CEO of Port Vale? No, of course you are not. So you will not have any knowledge if anybody wants to buy or invest in the football club.

By the way, this is me not saying I want Carol to sell.  I just want her to crack on now & learn by the mistakes that most fans have seen & been telling her about for the last 18 months. Make the changes needed and pull the resources together to win promotion of that crap league asap.

I'm just tired of reading that their no one is banging on our door to take over little Port Vale.

You have all been brainwashed by Bratt & Smurf

Do you know what? The day that Carol decides to move on and sell the club, I'm also 100% convinced that with all the contacts that she's now got in business and football, she will find an even better owner than herself to take over the club

But that is NOT what i'm saying.  There are deluded people on here that want Carol out and think that someone is going to come in just snap us up.  I don't see that.  I also quite like our owner.  Yes, she's cocked up BUT she's fessed up to that.

Lets get on and get the situation repaired (including the Paddock bogs!)

    Jesus!

Why do the owners have to be from Stoke on Trent?

I suppose they don't Brian.  But that makes it even harder doesn't it...??  We're a sleepy little backwater town, overshadowed by our bigger neighbour - even Crewe, arguably, have a bigger claim to fame as one of the biggest rail junctions in the country. But whether that person is from Stoke on Trent or Sarajevo, I don't see that many banging on the door to buy the place, do you...??

As for some on here thinking Robbie might be the next messiah - I wouldn't hold your breath.

I think we all need to calm down a bit and see that we are who we are and we all need to start pulling together on this.  The club are trying to get better at communicating with the fans - they've got a long way to go. But they are trying.  We now need to see what Moore is allowed and supported to do in the summer.  Just shredding Carol at every opportunity is NOT going to get us anywhere.  Yes, we all hear you - you are not happy.  Neither am I.  BUT I'm certain there are no options other than here right now.

And that's the point Osh.  I'm all for free speech and fair criticism but some fans take it a too far and should just think a little more as to who and what is posted about the Shanahan family on all forms of social media.

Vale fans wonder why one wealthy Vale fan in particular doesn't get more involved, perhaps the answer lies in some of the posts directed at the Shanahan family.

Post office the day. Well said m8.

Some Vale fans are in danger of getting what they wish for. To get rid of Carol and possibly get another Smurf or, worse, nothing at all.

He isn't far wrong... This cluster fck season is on her!

Still doesn't stop the question though does it. Just how do we find another multimillionaire in north Stoke on Trent willing to pay for this...??

    It's that simple

For one, I'd never support Stoke and secondly, forget about the early 'love-in'  with Carol. I do appreciate the fact that the Shanahan's came in and 'saved' the club when they did. I'm merely talking about the here and now, grave errors have been made on and off the pitch, there is no getting away from that. You are right, it's my choice and my money. I'm hurting like many others and it is my opinion based on supporting Vale for 49 years. I'm not a happy clapper.

It's not a 'love in' as you like to decry others. It's a fact. We've got what we've got. Let's get in with it.

    Agreed.

By so publicly saying Flitcroft was NOT a mistake last time for this latest statement to mean anything it had to be covered, as well as the condescending tone of the last one.   It’s like receiving a letter of complaint but then totally ignoring what the complaint was about in your response!

This statement was not knocked up after the final whistle, it would have been typed and ready to go after much consideration as to the wording.

It does not admit to mistakes not covered in the last statement, which for me makes this a ‘save face without backing down’ response.  It only adds apologies for the results, which in themselves I do not blame Carol for - but does not address the issues that we were all warning her about that led to these poor results and ultimately surrendering our League 1 statues without a whimper.

in summary, a Corporate rather than heartfelt apology for me - CS probably still thinks she was right in her initial response, and has not backtracked from it one iota with this latest missive - which in turn raises concerns regarding future strategy setting!

What could she have said different ..??

Here's a challenge for you - go and get her letter and rewrite it completely as you believe it should be written and post it here.

    Looking forward to it.

I genuinely bought in to the Shanahan's, events of the last 12 months have tarnished that. Many things have contributed to my thoughts on and off the pitch. I have a big decision to make after 49 years. I've had enough and feel totally disillusioned with all at the Vale top to bottom. The culture and ideals at the top have seeped through to the playing side, leaving a rotten underbelly and supporters alienated.

Sorry m8. Have to call this out as bollox.

The club has been left in a pitiful state by Smurf and others. It is ramshackle and falling apart at the seems with many parts of the ground in a condemned state.

Carol has had ZERO choice but to put in much needed funds to get the stadium in a fit state - even then we get his with unforeseen things like the paddock bogs that need doing. It's never ending.

Shes done wonders for this club since being here. Has she made some big mistakes - absolutely and admits that. But it's never ever good enough for some people. They're just going to hate.

If you don't want to go and watch the Vale that's your choice. I will continue and be a supporter.

You could always turn left or right on the 500 if you prefer. Many have done so in the past.

She had two seasons to apologise and put it right, she choose not to.

Don’t want to hear it. She’s a joke.

Attendances will probably half next season and that’s on you Carol.

Sell up and just go now.

    CAROL OUT!

And exactly who do you want to take over. How many multi millionaires do you know in north Stoke on Trent...??

I've read some dumb messages on here in my time but this comes close to the best ever.

She's made mistakes - including on Flitcroft (the guy who helped recruit DC and some of the players that gave us one of best days ever at Wembley, and recruited Alfie and Ollie, but hey ho) - she's admitted mistakes.

It's time to move on. As others have said, actions are what's needed - there are some quite poor players that need to be hot rid of, one way or another.

Like Wrexham and Stockport, a new DoF needs a good budget and bring in some good players. Moore needs a good squad - not the shower of <ovf censored> he's got right now. If we can retain the key players and ask them to fight at least one season in EFL2 that will help.

Lots to do. She's did it before - I'm happy to give her the time and space to do it again.

I wasn't even aware of Clarke other than seeing him play for us for about 5 minutes until it was rumoured that he was going to be our manager. I asked someone who knew him what he thought and he wasn't very complimentary. I also read into his history at various clubs on the internet and concluded that he is an average manager who has a massive opinion of himself, a massive chip on his shoulder about the fact that he didn't do as well as a footballer as he thought he should and an inability to recognise his own failings. Cheltenham Town fans seem divided on his merits too incidentally. . I wanted him to be a fantastic manager and propel us to greater success on the pitch but that didn't happen.

My nephew is a huge Gashead and, having lived in north Bristol for many years, I can tell you that Clarke was absolutely loved at Rovers.  They still hold him in high regard today.
