  1. I think the statement is fair enough.

i also think that two major things need to be done soonest.

    1. Publish a retained list

    2. Make 2 or 3 (maybe 4 or 5) key signings as early as possible.

If the club do that, they have a chance of stopping the awful negativity surrounding the club at the moment.

Like many others, I am keeping my season ticket money in my pocket until I see some sign that there is a plan beyond ‘working hard’ to put right the wrongs of the last 18 months.

I think as time goes on, you can't describe Carol as inexperienced or not knowing what she's doing, so that would explain the "letting go" of experienced senior employees. All of which is fine except the jury is out at present on the current "powers that be". For me the model of trying to develop our own production line is going ok but lags behind the needs of the first team. Going down means it's going to be more difficult to attract the Arblaster / Devines of this world and Weir and the anonymous lad from Man U have been completely inadequate replacements.

Imagine if we’d got gore and Weir instead of Ollie and Allie!

What a terrible season its been on and off the pitch. But somehow after yesterdays win we are in with a sniff of pulling off a miracle the only way i think we can get ourselves out of this is if we pack the park. Our last home games are all winnable and i think if we were to win them wed stay up. Id like the club to offer cheaper tickets to get bums on seats. Its the start of a new dawn flitcroft is gone although left in position far to long weve all finally got our wishes. Bring family/mates along lets do our bit to push the lads on . They showed fight and passion yesterday lets get vale park rocking for the first time since the hamil switch. I truly believe if we do it can give the players that extra bit in terms of belief to try and get us over the line. we have been fantastic this season considering what weve been put through this season but now is the time to put that all to bed and create some noise in the right way. We are all vale. We all want league one next year. Lets help achieve this.

Good post. Fact is, recent away performances have been better than home ones. Maybe the atmosphere at VP has been negative for the players.

Up to the fans now to create the ‘Swindon buzz’, and save the moaning for after the season end.

  4. Not really qualified to answer whether we need a DoF as such, because I’m not sure how important the role is at this stage.

A lot of the good stuff going on behind the scenes is now set up. I realise it needs to be managed, but couldn’t that be part of the CEOs job?

We certainly need to focus on recruitment, and invest in that area, and possibly funds for that could partly be generated by NOT replacing the DoF.

Good recruitment now will be so beneficial to the young squad, and would help to get the most out of their potential.

  5. I think Carol needs to stop thinking that football is a mysterious business, which needs to be explained to her by some self proclaimed guru.

She is a successful business person, and she must use her business head to look at the issues objectively.

In business terms, the product is not fit for purpose, and needs a complete overhaul.

The customers are loyal, but losing faith. (I was astounded by the loyalty shown yesterday, viz the pre match positivity, when put in the context of the ‘customer experience’ since 29th December)

She then has to review the performance of all her key managers, and decide who among them has shown that they are capable of implementing the required overhaul.

She then needs to look at the whole structure of the business, and decide if there is a better way to run it.

This message is in lieu of my response to the survey asking about my visit to Vale Park yesterday

I would imagine he has told some Home Truths and you can’t do that Port Vale.

As some of us Fans have Found Out, the Club and a certain % of the Fan Base don’t like it, it doesn’t align and suit the Process.

I’m not generally one for conspiracy theories, but this has a ring of truth. He seems quite vocal on the pitch, and was certainly a stand out at Cheltenham.

If we don’t intend to play him though, why get him in at all?

I heard that the injury excuse for being sent back was a cover up apprently his attitude was shocking and also he looked a shambles in training(as in not very good at football) so they club sent him back. The injury line was used to cover it up. Either way great bit of recruitment!!

Yes he was involved in a 10 v 10 session yesterday as was Loft. No real clues to the line up Saturday it was mix and match on both sides.

Interestingly though Ojo and Chislett didn't take part. They were involved in the light training drills with Uche which makes me even more convinced Ojo hasn't thrown it in but is managing his injury.

Not true.  The 50:50 tackle he thundered into on Saturday, in the 2nd half in Vale's half, in which he hurt himself and the Derby player suggest he's not pulling out of 50:50 challenges. He was booked on Saturday so after that he had to watch his step.  If anything Ojo doesn't look 100% fit to me.

Yes Paul. But Vale fans always need a scapegoat

Cowards on the pitch and cowards in the board room

I did not see any evidence of players failing to try yesterday.

Ojo is nowhere near fit, and is playing because there is nobody else.

The fault is in recruitment, which has led tous playing Massey or a 17 year old at CF.

i was a bit surprised by the ‘not fit to wear the shirt’ stuff at the end.

I understand the frustration, but attacking the guys who were out there was perhaps missing the point

If we go down and Stoke also go down, he won't ever be able to attend a Vale game again.

I remember when we used to joke about Agent Jones and Agent O’Neil. I suspect the Coates family have successfully put their agent into PVFC

    Thinking about tomorrow night .

Play Lomax at right back with Sang and Shorrock at Left back with Mighten and play Loft up top with Wilson .

Lomax has that energy what's required in the two times he as come on field /played he as for being very good he is positive and I think he can free Sang up quicker for him to whip the kind of quality in that Loft if the ball comes in sooner should be able head down to Wilson score or him score himself .

Shorrock also has pace to burn and his very positive also along with mighten in home games Vale should take opposition to the cleaners I'd be very excited see a set up of hard running players gracing Vale Park.

For the nosayers then look at the 3-0 v Blackpool Shorrock was very good yet hardly seen him since.

We at home and I think these boys will get us win up the field and having goal attempts.

I'm not saying play them away .

We need be going for it if I see Lowe and Ojo in midfield again I will wonder if manager really wants be here

Lowe can do a job in defence, but it is totally unrealistic to expect him to play in midfield

Yes, good points. But to play that way PV must have central defenders who are good enough on the ball. Take it under pressure, don't give it away, pass accurately.

I think we have still been ‘possession-based’ in the Blackpool and Charlton games. Just been brave enough to mix it up a bit more and get the ball forward quicker. It’s still possession based

So he didn’t pass our test after failing . He went away, got fit, then passed

the all things negative brigade are trying to suggest we have a less strict test of some sort, which is the reason for our injury list .

Yes. It’s almost like some of the people who post on here aren’t actually fans of the club.
