  1. this has to be the most ridiculous thread ever. you cant possibly want a manager out when its not his team of players. surely you have to judge him on the players he brings in now we no longer have a clown in recruitment.

  2. this has to be the biggest dead rubber in history. would like to see the younger players played and leutwiler in goal. the rest can hang their heads in shame bar 2 or 3. mass clearout and a decent striker in the summer please. ill be watching and waiting this time before paying for a season ticket because this season has been unnaceptable to the point i didnt want to go watch the games.

I also want to see a fans forum asap with the leadership fronting this season up. its very easy to sit in front of 200 fans when youre doing well. now is the time to repair the damage that has been done.

    that is all.

    roll on full time.

    Open letter to Carol…

Sort this <ovf censored> show out. Give us back some pride!

    Signed,

Every Port Vale fan past and present.

PS tell Darren to release his retained list this week! Let’s get going rather than farting around!

totally with you on this. play the kids last game hardly any of the first team deserve to be given a good send off on the last day. personally i dont want to see any of that lot next year. start again. clear out. retained list as small as possible announced as quickly as possible and the first thing we need to do is sign a GOOD striker in the summer before ANYTHING else.

I think some people on here are going to get a very rude awakening.  This is NOT FIFA Manager; we need some L2 and some L1 players; I think there will be more kept than shown the door.

I also think if we play players in the roles they are supposed to play in then you'll also see better performances out of some of them.

if thats the case carol will get a rude awakening when it comes to season ticket sales in the summer.

  5. However, what happens on the pitch has always been, and will continue to be, the priority.

erm. carol no it hasnt everyone can see it hasnt... . it hasnt been since that awful january transfer window ( i know which one ) when you threw clarke under the bus.

we got exactly what we deserve.

I’ve been saying it for 7 seasons or so.

Let’s not make out that he’s a great defender even in league 2. Because he’s not.
If he was put on the transfer list who would come in for him?
He can kick a ball. Head a ball. And use the dark arts. Beyond that he’s crap.

    spot on.

Were you saying that during promotion season? And every other L2 season for that matter?

L2 is his level and guess where we are next season… He can still do a job for us.

i was and still am. hes just a cheap option like quite a few others. we got very lucky getting out of league 2 last time. it was a battle. good teams run away with leagues. we struggled then got rid of the battlers and replaced them with far worse and guess what? were back in the bear pit. its put the club back a minimum of 3-4 years. awful.

It hasn’t been only a bad season. It’s been an atrocious 16 months.

From Garlick being tossed aside, to Clarkes sacking, to Flitcroft become all things football, to Crosbys boring tippy tappy crap, to a cup run we got caught up in despite playing anyone of significance, to three shambolic transfer windows, to relying on loan players and kids, to giving Flitcroft another January window and yet again no striker in sight, to sacking Crosby who should have been gone months before, to then sacking Flitcroft who should have never taken over the football side in the first place, to the embarrassing pathetic open letter from Carol, to her even more embarrassing pathetic these players are phenomenal speech, to Flitcrofts relegation isn’t in my vocabulary arrogance , to god awful players, to Darren Moore who quite frankly I’ve no idea what his philosophy is, to no bogs in the paddock, to the cringeworthy “El Presidente”, to the arrogance of the entire hierarchy of our proud football club of 148 years.

    Shame on you all.
    Disgraceful season.
Anyone who actually turns up next week needs to see a doctor.

The fans don’t deserve League 2 football.
The club and those associated on the payroll do.

    Pathetic Vale.
    Pathetic.

im struggling to argue with any of that either.  i cannot believe how bad things have got now.

I'd genuinely say Bruno Ribeiros European dream team was better than this current squad.

    Rigino Cicilia > Ryan Loft

    Paulo Tavares > Funso Ojo

    Ben Purkiss > Tom Sang

    Jak Alnwick > Connor Ripley

    Kiko > Conor Grant

    Chris Mbamba > Gavin Massey

Okay, maybe not the last one.. Just.

Then add the likes of Jerome Thomas, Andre Bikey, Anthony Grant, Ryan Taylor, even Alex Jones.

Everyone of those would get into this current squad which shows how poor we really are.

tbf i liked kiko i thought he was a fantastic player.

  10. ludicrous not giving the man enough chance with his own team. this lot wouldnt win an argument and the sooner we clear them off and let darren build his own team the better !

My <ovf censored> ideas are get good squad invest in facilities like the academy to allow for financial stability when we sell players on like depepa. Get a new dof in who with Darren more build a squad to maintain league 1 status. If we stay up. If we go down we should build a solid league 2 side as a foundation for when we are prompted to league 1.

If you disagree with that just because it's me saying it your mad.

ill just hijack this conversation by saying that is the WRONG way around. and this season has proved it. Fix the first team - thats what paying customers come to see ( and im not talking about those in the ivory tower boxes - im talking about the bulk of the paying customers in the Railway who cant even see where theyre peeing in the mens bogs because the lights are being powered by a hamster wheel) .... not posh academy facilities that do nothing in the here and now. no club runs its operations like that outside of the premier league.

I’ll get my tin hat on for this one.
It’s time she kopped the majority of blame here.

She bought the club debt free. And as Vale fans we were overjoyed after the last crook. However the last 18 months have been shambolic.

As fans I hear, yeah the academy are doing good. We will get millions for him and him. We have sold this lad to Man City for hundreds of thousands. Etc. Etc. Bearing in mind as supporters we don’t see that money.

So isn’t it right to question why we are almost 10 million in debt when she bought it debt free?

The bread and butter. The football. It’s garbage. With garbage footballers.

Shes also had 4 managers now in her short tenure. And I dare say the latest one won’t last long.

Shes divided a fanbase with her cringeworthy backing of a man who was intent on ruining Port Vale. David Flitcroft. And only sacked him after a group of fans had to give her head a wobble.

The laughs and jokes and arrogance as Flitcroft announced that relegation wasn’t in his vocabulary. Followed by the cringe distraction of “El Presidente”. Probably for her and his ego.

The Valiant Suite talk about how people she met 5 minutes ago told her our players are phenomenal and we won’t go down.

She was very quick to go on radio and tv across the country when it went good. Then sunk back into her shell, apart from the most pathetic open letter I’ve ever read, when she more or less slagged off her fanbase. Those that loved her. In support for one crook.

Sorry Carol. The time has come to break your silence.

The last 18 months has been an absolute disaster. And the repercussions will carry on because that debt isn’t good, the players are garbage, the manager is looking like a dear in the headlights, and the fans are well and truly demoralized with the whole debacle.

The buck stops at the top.
Before any idiot says “Who do you want to buy us”, I’m not saying she should sell. My point is that her decisions, as owner of this football club, have got us into this financial mess and on the pitch it’s an absolute disgrace. The worst Vale team I’ve seen in 40 plus years. And if it was Smurthwaite at the helm, going through all of this, you’d all be raging.

She needs to be accountable for her actions.

weve had our run ins over the years spunkers but this is 100% spot on.  we are not on a " slag carol off" mission but things cannot go on how they are now or we will end up in non league .

How much do you think Moore and his staff are costing?  Doesn’t suggest lack of funds.

im not suggesting that at all. im suggesting at the time they wanted to do it as cheaply as possible and just about stay in the division. the recruitment of moore was a massive meltdown on behalf of the club as we are in dire straits and its probably costing us more now that it wouldve just to sign a run of the mill 12 goal striker.

With a decent 12 goals a season striker we may well have won the last two games. Cheers for that DF.

    they cost money. we either

    a) are skint

    b) unwilling to spend.

either normally ends up with a team in the lower reaches.  i dont believe for one second " other targets" chose other clubs because of anything other than finances.

  17. happy with another point. you have to feel sorry for darren moore though. hes dragging us out of the relegation spots with the worst squad of players ive ever seen. incredible. needs to be given the funds to improve the team and clear some of these non league players out in the summer.

What a terrible season its been on and off the pitch. But somehow after yesterdays win we are in with a sniff of pulling off a miracle the only way i think we can get ourselves out of this is if we pack the park. Our last home games are all winnable and i think if we were to win them wed stay up. Id like the club to offer cheaper tickets to get bums on seats. Its the start of a new dawn flitcroft is gone although left in position far to long weve all finally got our wishes. Bring family/mates along lets do our bit to push the lads on . They showed fight and passion yesterday lets get vale park rocking for the first time since the hamil switch. I truly believe if we do it can give the players that extra bit in terms of belief to try and get us over the line. we have been fantastic this season considering what weve been put through this season but now is the time to put that all to bed and create some noise in the right way. We are all vale. We all want league one next year. Lets help achieve this.

while i agree with most of what you say. the simple fact is we deserve to be where we are and thats mainly down to us having cheap option players. you ever heard the phrase you pay peanuts ?

vale fans will always turn up. its down to the worst vale squad ive ever seen to turn this around now.
