So Vale should not have done their due diligence on the player & medical?

Liverpool should not have sent him out on loan in the 1st place. They above anyone should know the physical condition of their own players.

..... because that's what we contracted to do..... just because we decide we don't want him, does not nullify the contract. Surely that's just basic contract law.... unless the EFL say "Okay, let's just forget it"

If he wasn't fit for purpose then the contract is null and void.

It is absolutely impossible for Flitcroft to have seen him play this season. Yes, mine are facetious comments but the cold, hard facts are he has not seen this guy play and is signing him on a hope and prayer.

Rudgie makes it clear in his book he never signed a player he never saw play. This is an example why.

Agree there. If only we had another Rudgie type manager who worked tirelessly to scout and bring in good players.

So yes all season up until signing for us. The point stands, he didn’t play a single game and was out injured throughout. Surely that should trigger some alarm bells

Oh I agree, but i think Liverpool are as much to blame, they must have a far superior medical team with all the latest scanning equipment etc. Yet he seems to have slipped under their radar too.

Not a chance. This is Flitcroft laziness all over. Calls Liverpool “got any free players we can stick in our team”?

Liverpool: “Yeah sure have Reece Williams, just come back from Aberdeen, not injured at all”

Flitcroft: “Cheers, don’t know who he is really, or seen him play, as he hasn’t since he was at Aberdeen. These YouTube clips I am looking at on my work MacBook look fabulous and should shut up our mugs…I mean fans from wondering where new players are!”

You like making things up don't you 🙄

How is it post of the day , just because you agree with it.  I am getting tired of the injury situation and that being our excuse for being rubbish since September and outside the drop zone because of Reading's point deduction.  We like many other teams in our league and throughout football are dealing with injuries because football is different than years ago, more games, less recovery time, players not playing through the pain barrier, scientists telling managers when and when they can't play and many more issues.  This is why it was criminal to go into a season with one recognised LWB in grant who missed virtually the whole of last season.   After the window shut, we had a forward line of Wilson who we know from the past has never been able to stay fit regular, 5th choice striker from Bristol Rovers and Thomas who had never kicked a ball in the football league, we then a month later sign a player who has not played for 6 months who took 3 months to get anywhere near fit.  We choose to give Jones a 2 year deal who we know has spent more time injured than fit.

I keep hearing all these injuries but the nucleus of that team Ripley, Smith, Ojo, Arblaster, Devine Ojo, Garrity, Chislett were all fit for that awful run from September to December, they may have missed the odd game but other than Clarke I fail to see who we have missed as Wilson despite being quality, we should have been expecting him to miss and plans should have been in place for this.

I just fail to see how without 2 forwards one of which needs to know where the back of the net is how we are going to go on a run that will see us comfortable in mid-table, the defence is leaking goals and can't keep clean sheets and we need 2 or 3 goals to get a result.

We had the Yak,  Jones. Balmer, Cass, Debra and Lowe all missing at various times. Clarke. Grant and Plant Chislett had a couple of knocks that kept him out too. . Wilson Loft and Uche was building his fitness then Thomas carried off playing for Wales. Since then we have lost Arblaster, Devine. Ojo and now Uche.

It would be far easier to say who hasn't been missing through injury.

You can't possibly have any idea what he was going to do.

You've decided an imaginary outcome there based on a series of events that didn't actually happen.

Nope i'm 100% sure i saw him chase the referee across the pitch. If he only wanted to remonstrate with him he could have done that from the stand. I have every sympathy with him. The ref was totally clueless and i was incensed as everyone else. You can't do what that supporter did though and not get punished no matter how much we all disagree with the refs decisions that day.

100% disagree. It’s still a criminal offence regardless of motivation.

I also don’t agree he was going to be violent, whats  more concerning is the ease which he entered the pitch. Pitch invaders could be carrying anything and it’s a real safety issue.

    Anyway sorry transfer rumours…….

You lost any credibility when you say he wasn't going to be violent. What do you think he was going to do, ask the referee for his autograph?

Every side has injuries. We sign injury prone players and then moan when they miss large parts of the season.

Yes every side has some injuries but over that last 2 seasons ours have been catastrophic and many of them lasted several months. Yes part of that has been because we have signed some players who have been injury prone like Wilson and Grant. You take a gamble with some but others have had injuries when previously they have been relatively injury free. You can't have as many defenders and forwards out as we did in the 3 months leading up to xmas and expect to keep getting results. We have a relatively small squad and that amount of injuries will always affect what happens on the pitch.

The subject of money is so touchy.

It's always easier to have opinions on what others should do with their money, especially when they have lots of it.
We all have dreams of winning the lottery, but if one of us really did win, would our second or even third thought be to give Carol a ring for a bank account number to deposit 50m into? I somewhat highly doubt it...
You mention the Coates. Even though they've chucked literally hundreds of millions of punds into that club, their fans still want more and think it's not enough. When is enough enough? They're buying players for amounts that could fund our club for seasons, and still it's only enough to just about compete at the level above.
As I said elsewhere, I think the plan with bringing in Rob is for him to attract bigger sponsors and investors. Just like at AFC Hollywood. The owners there have chucked in cash, yes. But the biggest chunk of the cash, is from sponsors a club at that level usually could only dream of. United Airlines is their main sponsor. Why would an American airline that only function in the UK on a relatively small scale, want to sponsor a League 2 club with millions? Same with Tik Tok they had before. Not to mention the Amazon deal for their 'fly on the wall' thingy. Just take a look a their sponsors, and it's mainly big American brands.
I think that's what the Vale are hoping Rob can help do for the Vale, amongst other things.

I think the Gallagher brothers were asked pre Etihad takeover why haven't they invested in Man City. They said they had thought about it but soon realised that no matter how much they put in, the fans would expect more and they would be in a no win situation.

Heres my prediction we will bring nobody else in. We will lose to fleetwood and wilson will go off after 5 mins with a injury keeping him out for the remainder of the season🤣

Do you always look on the bright side of life

I’ll believe when I see it. 30 years and counting for RW to get his wallet out. He only did it last time to buy shares to save Bratt.

That's strange as he donated his shares to the supporters to get rid of Bratt 🙄
