“Some interest” – manager confirms there have been enquiries about Port Vale duo
Port Vale manager Andy Crosby says there has been “some interest” in defender Lewis Cass and midfielder Tom Conlon – both of whom have been rumoured to be leaving the club during the January window.
We don’t know what is going to happen. There has been some interest in both players…
Former captain Conlon has now recovered from an injury sustained in the summer but his last appearance was at the start of December and he has not been included in recent matchday squad. Linked with a move to Notts County before he was injured in the summer, locally born Conlon has made 183 Vale appearances, scoring nineteen times. He was named player of the year in 2021.
Defender Cass joined the club on a permanent basis in 2022 after an earlier loan spell. The right-sided defender has made 71 appearances for the side but, like Conlon, has not been included in recent matchday squads.
Manager Andy Crosby confirmed the interest in his pre-match interview with the media on Thursday saying: “We don’t know what is going to happen. There has been some interest in both players. There is obviously a player, two clubs, one selling, one buying and an agent who all have to be happy with the deal. If that is the case then we will make a decision.”

I don’t think we are in a position to sell if we don’t bring in better. It’s a no brainier
