An official club statement said:
Port Vale Football Club is delighted to confirm the arrival of Lewis Cass on a season-long loan from Newcastle United.
The 21-year-old defender spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Hartlepool United, joining the side in October and playing a key role in the Pools’ promotion campaign as he registered 35 appearances in all competitions.
Prior to last season’s loan, Cass had been an almost ever-present for the Under-23 squad in recent years, signing his first professional contract with the club in July 2018 and featured on the bench for the Magpies’ FA Cup third round clash at Rochdale.
