Port Vale completed the loan signing of highly rated Manchester United youngster Dan Gore in January 2024. Gore had played for the Red Devils in the Premier League on Boxing Day 2023 and his signing was seen as vindication of Vale’s determination to bring in top loan talent.

Gore, Man Utd Reserves’ player of the year for the previous season agreed a deal which will see him remain at Vale Park for the remainder of the season.

Port Vale manager Andy Crosby commented on the move saying: “Dan is a player that owns fantastic technical ability and the required competitiveness to his game to come in and immediately bolster the competition and options within our midfield.

“As well as his obvious qualities on the pitch, Dan possesses all of the non-negotiable personal qualities that are required to be a member of the squad here at Port Vale. He has a real desire to make the most of his opportunity here and to learn from the experienced players within our squad to push himself beyond his limits to become the very best version of himself.

“I would also like to thank Manchester United for entrusting us with one of their elite young talents. With the opportunities that were afforded to all of our loan players, as well as our style of play and player care, both Dan and Manchester United see Port Vale as the perfect home to continue his already impressive development.”

Gore made his debut in a 1-0 home defeat to Portsmouth, playing 54 minutes of the match. However, he was sadly injured after the game and didn’t make another appearance during his loan spell.
