Man Utd midfielder won’t appear for Port Vale again this season
Dan Gore has joined the ranks of Port Vale players to only make a solitary appearance for the club after manager Darren Moore confirmed that the loanee would not appear again this season.
Speaking to the media in the pre-match press conference this week, Moore confirmed: “Dan Gore won’t make it now for the rest of the season.”
With the Man Utd’s youngster’s loan spell expiring at the end of the season, it means the player’s spell at Vale Park is effectively over.
Gore was brought in on loan after the recalls of Ollie Arblaster and Alfie Devine. He followed the pattern endorsed by then Director of Football David Flitcroft to bring in elite youngsters from bigger clubs. However, Gore returns to Old Trafford after playing just 54 minutes for the Valiants – in a 1-0 home defeat to Portsmouth.
It’s a cruel blow both for the player – who was expecting to pick up some valuable playing time – and for the Valiants who have suffered with injuries in the latter part of this season.
Port Vale’s one hit wonders
Dan Gore has (sadly) joined the ranks of Port Vale players to only make one career appearance for the club. It could be for a number of reasons – injury, disciplinary reasons or just pure bad luck. Here’s our section dedicated to remembering those players and exploring why they only ever appeared once in black and white… it includes the likes of Alex Nimely, Scott Mean and Carlos Saleiro

Find this very strange, player tipped to be United’s future captain gets 1 start, no injury update or valid explanation as to why. His Dad supporting this move even though there where much better academies interested. This is either United hiding there assets for me or expect to see him in court in the near future.

There have been regular updates in Port Vale press conferences confirming his injury which occurred just after his debut. Nothing strange about it.
