Port Vale sign Manchester United midfielder Dan Gore on loan
Port Vale have confirmed the loan signing of teenaged Manchester United midfielder Dan Gore until the end of the season.
The Valiants have been looking to strengthen their central midfield following the return of loanees Ollie Arblaster and Alfie Devine to their parent clubs after successful loans. Vale are also missing injured senior pair Ben Garrity and Funso Ojo.
The success of Arblaster and Devine’s spells appears to have played a part in Man Utd’s decision to loan Gore to the Valiants. Both Arblaster and Devine enjoyed a lot of first-team minutes and have been fulsome in their praise for the club both on and off the pitch. Vale have reportedly beaten the likes of Bolton Wanderers and Blackpool to Gore’s signature. It further raises hopes that the Valiants can continue to attract top loan talent to the club.
The teenager is seen as one of Old Trafford’s hottest prospects having made his Premier League debut on Boxing Day. He was voted the Reserve player of the year last season. He joined the Man Utd academy in 2018 having previous been at Burnley.
Manager Andy Crosby told the official website: “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Dan to Vale Park.
“Dan is a player that owns fantastic technical ability and the required competitiveness to his game to come in and immediately bolster the competition and options within our midfield.
“As well as his obvious qualities on the pitch, Dan possesses all of the non-negotiable personal qualities that are required to be a member of the squad here at Port Vale. He has a real desire to make the most of his opportunity here and to learn from the experienced players within our squad to push himself beyond his limits to become the very best version of himself.
“I would also like to thank Manchester United for entrusting us with one of their elite young talents. With the opportunities that were afforded to all of our loan players, as well as our style of play and player care, both Dan and Manchester United see Port Vale as the perfect home to continue his already impressive development.
“We all look forward to working closely with Dan both on and off the pitch between now and the end of the season.”
