Triple injury boost for Port Vale?
Port Vale players Dan Jones, Funso Ojo and Jesse Debrah could all be returning to action soon, according to manager Andy Crosby.
Jones has missed much of the season, while Vale have missed the defensive qualities of Debrah and Ojo in recent games.
Talking to the media Crosby confirmed that as far as Debrah’s hamstring injury goes: “we thought it could have been slightly worse. Thankfully it isn’t but he missed last week.”
It also appears that fellow defender Dan Jones could be back in action. Crosby commented: “Dan Jones is now back in full training and available.” However, given Jones’ injury record the club are likely to gradually ease him back into action.
Vice captain Ojo has been missing since Christmas and Crosby had good news saying that although he hasn’t returned to training the midfielder is making good progress: “He is the next one in that line. He is progressing really well and is probably a little bit ahead of schedule from what we first thought.”
However, despite that news, Vale still have several players out with long-term injuries. Crosby confirmed: “James (Plant), Mitch (Clark) and Ben (Garrity) are still in that long-term category so the earliest we will be looking at with those three is mid-March.”
