Is Port Vale loanee set to return to action?
The Manchester Evening News newspaper suggests that Dan Gore is close to returning to action for the Valiants.
Gore was a high profile loan signing from Manchester United during the January transfer window. However, after appearing for 54 minutes in Port Vale’s home loss to Portsmouth on the 27th January, the nineteen year-old has not featured again after picking up an injury.
According to the newspaper, Gore has remained with the Valiants during his recovery rather than returning to his parent club and is on his way to featuring again. The MEN says: “The Manchester Evening News understand the initial assessment of Gore’s injury indicated he would be out for a month and he’s believed to have picked up the problem in a narrow defeat against Portsmouth on January 27, which means he should be close to a return to action.”
Gore received interest from Championship side Preston and League One clubs Bolton, Blackpool, Fleetwood and Shrewsbury in January, but the Valiants won the race for his signature after their success earlier in the season with loanees Ollie Arblaster and Alfie Devine.
The midfielder was hailed as an “elite young talent” by former manager Andy Crosby when the youngster signed on loan and the club certainly need as many options and players as possible if they are to move out of the relegation zone.

He’s a young lad learning his trade as a professional football player in men’s football so give the lad a break and get behind him and who knows he might surprise you

I’d be more optimistic if it was a 20 goal a season man returning instead of a young lads with no football league experience.
