Port Vale snap up teenage midfielder
Port Vale have confirmed the short-term signing of midfielder Adeteye Gbadehan, who had been training with the Valiants first-team squad.
The club say the 19 year-old has agreed a deal until at least January 2024. Gbadehan had been linked with the club for some weeks.
Director of Football, David Flitcroft told the official website: “We’re looking forward to having Adeteye with us over the next few months. What we have assessed over the short period we have had Adi train with us is untapped potential.
“He has a desire and determination to succeed and adapt to the English game and we believe he will have the right people and structure around him that will give him the best possible chance to make that a reality. The nature of the deal allows us to see him in a competitive environment whilst he trains with our first team, it will also give him the potential to earn himself a longer deal.”
Andy Crosby added: “Adeteye has been with us for a couple of weeks and he’s learning what it is to be a Port Vale player. He’s showing all of the key attributes needed and has the desire and enthusiasm to improve and develop himself within the game. We’re looking forward to working with him and we’ll be closely monitoring his development whilst he is with us at Vale Park.”
