The report comes from US-based journalist Tom Bogard who reports for The Athletic magazine.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who is 6ft 3in tall, had come through the ranks at American academy outfit Future SC Monarchs, and he starred as they won the 2021 Dallas Cup which is a prestigious football tournament in the USA for aspiring footballers.
The teenager, who has a British passport, had been on trial with Brentford earlier this year, and linked up with Southampton in September. He was also linked with a possible move to League One rivals Blackpool. As he is a free agent, he is able to join a club outside of the transfer window.
Reports claim he has opted to sign for Vale because he wants a better chance of first-team football. He decided not to join an MLS-affilitated academy after leaving high school and is now trying to forge a career in English football.
The only previous American player to appear for the Valiants was loanee Jemal Johnson, who made seven appearances in 2010 while on loan from MK Dons.
