One of the most important games in the club’s recent history, the Valiants secured promotion to the second tier for the first time in more than 30 years. The win was achieved by the “MBE” corner routine with a goal by Robbie Earle, who scored in all four fixtures against Rovers. This section also covers the other play-off games that season.
