  1. I'm not sure if anybody commented on this in the Peterborough game forum but.....

When Lofty was subbed off v Peterborough he didn't go to the bench he went straight down the tunnel. The iFollow camera was pointed straightdown the tunnel looking at Moore. In the background Lofty booted the door/wall as he went down the tunnel definitely not a happy clapper1 Did anybody else see it or was it my imagination? Then today he's injured in the warm-up??????

Well worth the trip over! After last year's visit to Accrington I saw a world of difference in yesterday's performance. It wasn't pretty first half but I've seen us cave this season under that kind of pressure. They were a big outfit and we repelled all boarders at those long throws and free kicks.
Second half there was only one team trying to play football but i thought it was going to be one of them days when Ben's header thumped the post in front of us. Credit to 'em though and the goal was after brilliant work from Lofty in different ways. Again, when Blackman,(how big is he?) got a touch on Chizzy's shot and it trickled against the post I thought we'd shot it but Loft, Loft will tear you apart again. Cue limbs around me and at 66 my bad knees and hip just about stood up to it!
Thought Loft was excellent all game....not the most accomplished of centre forwards I've ever seen but looks like he may be settling in. I've seen where people said he nearly missed the goal...he didn't. It was right in front of me and he had to get it up and over the bodies throwing themselves at him. Good finish I thought. i thought he'd done everything right first half but seemed to just roll it the wrong side of the post.
Oh well, onwards and upwards with that effort and never say die defending.......doctor, there's still a pulse.
Off to get flight home but i'll be there in spirit on iFollow on Friday.

  5. As me Grandma would have said....You need your bumps feeling! I'm over in the UK from Wednesday to Sunday and there was NO WAY I was going Burton. So what have I just done? Bought a sodding ticket .......mad as a box of frogs.

I was over last season to watch the sh1teshow at Accrington...please don't let it happen again Vale. It will though won't it?

Anybody on here remember Crewe 1 Vale 5 when Bernie Wright turned into Alan Shearer in the second half. Night match standing on loose rocks behind the goal. Best times ever as a 16 year old....

One of my favourite games. I remember towards the end, a Crewe throw in and Bernie stood on the line in front of him, laughing at him. The Crewe lad didn't know what to do and was bricking himself...😂......we were leaning over the wall laughing at him!

Gonna try something new tonight which is not caring and watching champions league in the pub with friends, instead of vale on ifollow.

Hopefully this tricks the universe into a decent performance. The only thing that can jolt us out of this drudgery is superstition.

If I did care enough to pick a team - I'd like to see us go back to a combative 4-3-3. Hopefully Mitch Clarke can play a bit of the game.

From what I remember about orient when they played us at home they absolutely bossed the midfield and we're everything we wanted our team to be. Therefore we need to pack the midfield and get in their faces.

Was with you on Saturday at 5.00pm.....no way was I watching on Tuesday. I'm an exile and have a season pass on iFollow. Didn't say anything to the Missus but when she asked me yesterday, "is there a game, tomorrow?" I caved and said yes so I'm committed to watching it now.....well that's my excuse anyway. I just know what's coming so I suppose it musr be some form of addiction?

    Someone please help me........

I've got the petrol and matches......Christ, I hate Vale sometimes!

I'll be putting mesen through it again on Saturday though. Perhaps Happy Clappers Club should be retitled Utter Numpties For Undying Support Club (UNFUSC for short)

    UTV!

Happy clapping to the happy chappy club! If only we got over the line against Stevenage. I'd have been handing in my application form!

If it was only that easy Valiiant!

A win against Stevenage?  If you've Happy Clapped your way through FA Cup defeats to Scarborough, Canvey Island, Enfield, Chasetown and the Dog and Duck you would enter onto our radar. A win over Stevenage after being 2-0 up and then 3-2 up? 2 last minute equalisers? Just  basic standard stuff for the Happy Clappers Club. Wouldn't even break out me rattle for that, I'm afraid.

You say picked up on diving? That  twonk who tried to cheat a penalty in the first half was not booked which was a bottle job by the ref. Same player then had a yellow later on and should of been walking .

I personally felt he lost control and was dishing cards like confetti. 8 or 9 yellows in the game.

Agree with your first point...I'd forgotten that. He picked it up but didn't book him, you're right. Then he should have walked later.

However, I don't think he ever lost control. How many refs this season would have kept stopping it when blokes fell over when they felt a slight nudge in the back. He was having none of that. For me, 8 or 9 cards doesn't show a lack of control and I don't think we would have had the full blooded game we got with some of this season's refs. My opinion, yours is different but I prefer the game to keep going rather than being as stop/start as some.

  12. And breathe......what a great game to watch although knicker gripping being a Vale fan. Brilliant performances across the park but I'll tell you someone who had a good game for me......THE REF!

Some fierce challenges, let the game flow, picked up on diving.....sound. Only thing I thought he could have done was send off that numpty who was charging into everyone. Was he saying "Calm down, calm down, calm down" in his best Harry Enfield the Scousers voice do you think?

I'll still be happy and clappy even IF we are out of two cup competitions this time next week - let's be fair, we have entered one of those cup competitions well over 100 times now and still never even got to the Final. As for the other, I think it's over 60 years and we have possibly the worst record in that competition of all the current league teams and have never got past this stage at all so it won't be much of a surprise to see us again capitulate.

It's impossible to predict today if we will actually be out of both competitions but you seem convinced, almost as if you want us to lose both games. For the life of me I can't understand why, I can only assume it's to satisfy your lust for failure so you can come on here and spout your diatribe.

It's not all roses and if you think any 'Happy Clapper' is happy with current results then you really are deluding yourself, I doubt anyone is happy with the current form but the season is 46 games long with cup games to add - just look down the road 5 miles, this time two weeks ago they all wanted the manager gone, now he's the new Messiah.

If trying to see the bigger picture and backing the owners, management and team rather than belittling everything possible is being a "fries short of a happy meal" then I'd rather be that than walk one footstep in your shoes.

Absolutely bang on the nose, Fred. My thoughts written down by you.....it's a mystery to me why they either bother going or come on here.

Anyway, got me pom poms ready, slobber has already formed in one corner of my mouth in order to dribble down whilst jumping up and down and clapping Vale as Mansfield's 5th goes in.....Oh, the life of a Happy Clapper! Must be so easier being in the miserable, told you so, we are sh1te, Club.

Conrad and anyone else for that matter, you need to know that we ONLY deal in cash (Sterling), Wrights Pies or High Lane Oatcakes.

Can we barter with Uncle Joe's Mintballs or Victory V lozenges? My Owd Fellah's staples whilst freezing yer dooberries off on the Railway Terrace...
