He had a big enough smile after the celebrations

Well said. Best game Smudgers had since Chrimbo

His best part was in the first half when he had ball smashed against his head from about a foot has he stooped to head it and it screamed out for a throw in. My daughter was in hysterics!!! Typified his brave battling performance.

I honestly think everyone thought heโ€™d smashed it over. ย Nobody around me could believe it when the roof of the net bulged. ย Fantastic celebrations. ย Thatโ€™s what football is all about.

Right behind it. No chance was he missing. Helped that he didn't have time to think. Unlike the first half miss.

Tom Pope is no longer a league 1 striker. He's not scoring regularly for Witton Albion.ย

Smith should never have been made captain and I think that's been detrimental to his game. He's not a natural leader.ย

For all his legendary status by my quick count off wikipedia he scored 47 goals in League 1 with 12 being the most in one season.

Forwards signed by comparable League 1 or League 2 clubs:

Burton: Jonathan Leko, Kyle Hudlin, Antwoine Hackford, Odemola Ola-Abebomi, Joe Hugill

    Cambridge: Lyle Taylor, Macauley Bonne

    Carlisle: Luke Armstrong, Georgie Kelly

    Cheltneham: Matty Taylor, Joe Nuttall

    Exeter: Mo Eisa, Millenic Alli

    Fleetwood: Ronan Coughlan, Tommy Lonergan

    Leyton Orient: Khayon Edwards

    Lincoln: Joe Taylor

    Wigan: Charlie Kelman

Wycombe: Richard Kone, Gideon Kodua, Bez Lubala

    ย

How did all of these clubs manage to sign forwards, whilst we're crapping it with 40 minutes to go?

I've no doubt we'll bring someone in, but the second January in succession we're down to the wire.

Are any of them any good!

Spot on RZ. Look how well last summer and January went when we waited till the last knockings to "maximise the value available". I wonder what Matty Taylor or Mipo are up too these days.ย

Mipo is playing for Maritimo in Portugal.

I agree, but why did Crosby wait till we were 0-3 down before changing it, if he had changed it sooner, before it was too late, weโ€™d have got a point today.Lomax did more than Massey has in the last 3 games, also beginning to think Ripley isnโ€™t as good as he thinks he is, he never moved for the first goal.

No chance with that header. Placed it in

You've completely missed the point: Cambridge were plummeting because they were playing badly and not scoring goals. Harris has completely changed this with 10 goals in four games and just three against - with the same players who are, arguably, a poorer squad than ours. It's been a sea change in style and performance and shows what a change in manager will do. They ain't going back to their old ways, that's for certain.

So their place in your hierarchy of mediocrity is completely misplaced.ย

I haven't missed any point. I am just stating where we are at this point compared to other sides.

Er, please leave Cambridge out of this. Since they changed their manager, they have won three and drawn one of their last four games. A totally different team by all accounts with a proper manager in charge.ย

We've won 2 and drawn 1 out of our last 3. Just quoting the current league table. You might not like the football but thats where we are. Lots of times on here over the last couple of years there are people saying it is results that count - not performances. Can't pick and choose.
