  1. I seriously doubt the cash dictates if you're tired or not.
But it is a piss poor excuse nontheless
I was physically stiff, sore and tired on Sunday from a heavy delivery shift on Saturday night but IAM in my 50's, not an athlete, not got a team of professionals managing my diet, lifestyle, fitness, minutes etc and the very lowest paid earns more than 4x my weekly wage and I work 7 hours a shift not 2 hours (being generous for warm ups etc).

  2. Steve, if the players were tired from Friday does that mean that we’re now going to target the winnable games in our last six remaining games and look at damage limitation in the Peterborough and Bolton games. It’s a risky strategy, I’d rather go more defensive in those two games.
Well Playa, if I was Moore I would be targeted every game! We can't be in a position where it's acceptable to consider a game as ok to lose. Everyone is beatable. For some reason today the team reverted to playing tippy tappy out from the back and passing back from halfway, everything we've been doing to get into this situation and conversely everything we didn't do on good Friday. Moore is a motivator, he is someone that can get a tune from a team, look at his sheff team last year in the playoffs. The very big problem we have is that it might not be possible to get a tune out of these players if the games are too close together!

  3. I wasn't due to be going this match due to being rostered for work but my incompetent employer asked me to swap my Saturday off for good Friday and I said yes so I can go the footie (cue facepalm from the boss!). Qué suprise suprise we put a shift in after last week's sacking. We owe Bristol rovers one after tamely losing to them in the promotion push so they got autos instead of us. Time we got Revenge. 2 nil vale.

  4. Dm said in his presser that the club had bought in 3 people 3 weeks ago as free agents to train, he was very guarded in his words but he arranged a closed doors friendly this week to see them in action and decided that after 3 weeks at the club they were no good. That speaks volumes for the standard of recruitment and that's the guarded "not backstabbing anyone" comments to the press. It's simply been a total <ovf censored> show and flitcroft is the person that was responsible for that.

  5. I've a feeling that the players might have downed tools after Crosby was sacked to get flitcroft out. Today we will see if we actually have a team of players or whether we need a total rebuild in league 2. My hope is that they've decided to return to how they played in August and September and we owe Burton one. They will know they owe us, dazza and carol a performance.

  6. If we have got one of the lowest budgets in the league, then the question must be why? We must be turning over bigger sums than a lot of the clubs above us, our corporate side and club shop appears to be doing well, shirt sales are up, bigger attendances than for a few years....

so what is draining our resources? Have we got too many staff? Are the owners not pumping in as much as other owners? Are we getting enough from sponsors? Should we be letting others sponsor our shirt/stadium? Is the ground swallowing up too much money? Are we allocating too much of the budget to vanity projects?

If we can't compete with Exeter, Burton, Cambridge, Stevenage, Shrewsbury, Northampton, even Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient, we might as well pack up and turn the lights off now. What's the point?
Exactly what I was thinking. Imagine being uncompetitive against Bristol rovers, Exeter et Al. No wonder we "lost targets to other clubs". We've a league 2 budget.

  7. Are the figures quoted Vale's contribution to their wages or their total wages? Not that I bother to read wage posts.

Sent from my SM-A715F using onevalefan mobile app

No. The wage quoted would appear to be their contracted wage with there respective club and how long that contract is for and gives the history of their contracts. E.g for Ripley it stated his wage dropped by more than half when he left a championship club to go to Morecambe and that we are allegedly matching that contract which makes sense to me because at the time he left Morecambe they were in dissary and couldn't sign or re-sign anyone.
  8. The most disturbing thing about today for me was the apathy amongst the fans, it is obvious that the fans have packed up and can you really blame them ?
This team is not phenomenal Carol, it's just not very good at football and it's plain to see that next season with this set of players it's going to be another struggle and that's where the apathy sets in, once it gets a hold it's very hard to shake off, it can take years to gain support and just months to lose, the damage done with the recruitment policy since January 23 is going to take years to rectify and the paying public deserve an explanation
That's why hundreds were streaming off the ground before the final whistle just resigned to yet another home defeat.
The fights gone out of the supporters and it's certainly gone out of the team, like I said............. Apathy

As one who was sitting in the ls I totally agree. The group of us sitting together analysed the passages of play "wish we were attacking like that" etc. when your watching the apalhy on the pitch frankly what do you expect? We've done with shouting "get in them, go forwards" etc. it's the same football under Moore as Crosby and Clarke before but now with no fire, quality, accuracy or desire.
