I'll leave it at this - l think we've got a very different understanding of the words "dire" and "terrible".

We all want whats best for the club at the end of the day; the reason why people get so irate about situations is because they want what they think is best. To me it felt like we were sleep walking into another askey /bruno situation. Nothing would make me happier than being proven wrong. Last night was a step in the right direction.

Actually, you can argue against it. It's absolute nonsense to say we've been "dire" and "dreadful" for 3 months! Or don't the Mansfield, Burton and Wigan games count? Or by all accounts a very good performance at Pompey? Or picking up a very decent haul of points away from home, even with sub-par performances?  Or reaching a Cup quarter-final?

Wouldn't 3 months of "dire and dreadful" performances see us bottom with no goals and no points? No progress in cups presumably?

If people wanted him out without any thought for the bigger picture (such as injuries, some bad luck and a glut of fixtures (including 4 FA Cup ties) that's on them. Maybe next time we have a sticky patch (which, believe it, or not all teams do) think whether a bit of patience and leeway for a thoroughly decent manager might be a better option.

In the league weve been dire for months that is my viewpoint before last night bar the wigan game. Beating some league two teams in a cup didnt sugar coat that for me. Cheltenham wycombe lincoln barnsley derby boro exeter Shrewsbury Peterborough bristol rovers were all terrible in my eyes. If you don't agree thats fine but to have that many poor performances in a short space of time didnt fill me with much hope. Ive always wanted crosby to do well and would love him to turn it around but i wasnt hopeful. Last night there was a major improvement in performance so im hoping its a turning point and im willing to give him a chance.

We all get frustrated, Vtid. We all have different opinions. That's football. It's when ppl jump on the bandwagon because it's on trend that bothers me!

You've got a Vale podcast run by Vale fans who travel up & down the country who are quite entitled to their opinions... Crosby comes on & spends a couple of hours with them (when we're in a crap run of form by the way) & they're lapping it up. He's the best thing since sliced bread. Can't get enough of the guy. Couple of poor results later, they're saying they won't be renewing their season tickets if he's here next season & hoping we get tonked next game so he gets the sack, it's farcical!

Ultimately, we're all Vale fans & we all want the club to do well. That includes the ppl working for our club. Let's just try & get behind him & the whole club, even when we have a run of crap results. That includes Ryan Loft. He's a Vale player. Please can we quit with booing him when he is subbed on. It's embarrassing.

If we were bottom 4 without a prayer or any signs of progress I'd be the the first to be asking why we aren't making a change. Take a step back Vale fans...

We're seeing youth come through like never before, we've got a new style of play, our GK is head & shoulders above anything we've had for a long while, our loan signings have been a massive upgrade. We've gone from Butterworth & Mipo to Arblaster & Devine. World's apart. We've even fluked our way to a cup QF! We've also got some really decent players on 2 x year deals, Garrity, Ripley, Chislett.

There's been enough signs of change & improvement & growth this season for me. We can't change everything in one go. Hopefully the fan base can show some patience & we can review where things are come the end of the season.

There's plenty to be grateful for. UTV.

I wouldn't take much notice of what they say on the podcast non of them have any decent level of football knowledge.

If you want dreadful pal you have a short memory... go back a few years and you will find dreadful.

Its not been far off mate and id say 95% of league clubs would of pulled the trigger. Im just saying i dont think fans had gone overboard with wanting him out.. but hes hear and hes got 3 wins from 5 for me now like joe b said lets give him a little time as there was improvement there tonight. Which hadnt seen in a while

    Stick that up ya!

Well done Vale, every single player is playing for the manager without a shadow of a doubt. 9 points clear of the bottom 4, games in hand, bottom of the league next up which gives us a great chance to add to the points total.

Credit to Crosby, 2 x kids at wing back & it worked. Jack Shorrock superb against one of the most dangerous players in this league in CJ Hamilton. 16 years old, quite incredible.

Special mention to Uche who they couldn't deal with all night. I'm not his biggest fan but he did really well tonight.

Those calling for Crosby's head hang your heads in shame, & that goes for the Ale & Vale pile on. Massive agenda against Crosby based on nothing more than greed. We are a mid table League 1 side. Sometimes we'll be terrible, sometimes we'll be great. Suck it up.

Let me ask again... where do we need to be in the table for the ppl calling for Crosby out to be content? We're on the same number of points as 12th place & have home game(s) in hand over most teams. Halfway through the season, 29 points, we're on course for 58 points if we repeat our first half of the season form. Bang midtable.

I'd have taken that & a cup run this season. Lots of fans with delusions of grandure. Ppl hoping we got pumped 5 tonight so Crosby gets the sack. Absolute disgrace. Sit down!

Think thats a tad unfair tbh mate on people wanting him out. Since September weve been dreadful you cant argue against that we had won 2 games in about 16 matches. I really dont think fans wanting him out is that bad of a stance to take. Listen if he gets the time and turn it around and he does so brilliant. My opinion had been based on performances id see since September not just the results. It has been dire but heres hoping were at a turning point now..

  6. Well done Crosby tonight! Made a brave call playing the young lads and it paid off. Wilson and uche looked a handful all night and big uche had his best game for us i thought. Sharrock if he keeps putting them performances in wont be with us for very long. Glad to see smith back in and we looked a lot better defensively. A small step in the right direction lets hope it continues on new years day. I see that clown tom amos is slating uche still after tonight's performance. Also slated crosby for started the young players before the game.

It looks like the former as herself and Kevin look to have posted a cessation of controlling interest in Synectics.

Dunno if has already been posted.

    Lads.

If we could stop pretending the 10 nutters on here are in any way representative of the fanbase that would be great.

If you surveyed the fans on Saturday, Carol would get 90% approval rate. In a crowd of 5000+ people, you're always going to get a few wrong'uns. That's life and carping on about them every day is tiresome.

I am considered a moaner but would say that Carol is the best thing to happen to PVFC in the 21st century and would name a stand after her family when she sells up.

Magnifying the views of a couple of moaners and saying 'look! the terrible Vale fans are at it once more! You will drive Carol away at this rate', is almost patronising to the resilience of a highly successful businesswoman to handle a few whingers on a forum which she never has or will read.

She will be sound and we don't need this tedious pearl clutching, banging on about how dreadful the fans are, every day.

Were you not the one on here last season slating the club for having no money because someones nan got the sack for the club shop 🤣

What do you gain by posting something that is not actual fact.

This site is full of rumours that people hear... again ive said that im not saying its 100% true just what ive been told... and where it came from I would find weird if they had totally made it up..

we may aswell delete half the forum down as most the things said on here are not factually true transfer rumours may aswll delete that thread.

    all clarke rumours

all the bad eggs in camp rumours

Then what's the benefit of posting a rumour that can't be substantiated, would this have come out if we hadn't been on this run...Of course not.

I only heard it today so cant say when it would come out. Again not stating it as absolute fact but the guy i heard it from does genuinely have links to the club and it woild be a strange thing to make up.

    Source?

    No verifiable source, no belief.

I mean I completely understand the scepticism however i cant say where its come from im afraid as they are linked to the club indirectly and it could get who they heard if from in trouble

i cant believe that for one minute to be honest mate, if our training pitch wasn't suitable they would surely find somewhere else to train in the meantime

Yeh they might of done ive just been told that the work that flickers authorised on our training pitch has made it unuseable at the moment (unintentionally) and that we dont have training facilities mid season

  13. Ive been thinking about what been told  about carol money running out aswel and trying to rationalise it.
so the toilets in paddock still not been fixed surely isnt too costly so why hasnt it been done yet?

no managers interviewed after clarke sacked and cheapest option taken? And other clubs surely would of atleast interviewed?

why has crosby been given so much time any other club would of pulled the trigger by now is it we can't afford pay him off.

after strikers debacle of last season we spend all summer chasing ryan loft?

were we not supposed to have replays on big screen why has this not been done yet, (aware the club didnt pay for installation of big screen but is this an additional cost? )

why is everything so quiet from carol. When was the last time we heard a peep from her?

Been told on good authority that the work flickers authorised on the training pitchs has left the training pitch unusable and that the players aren't training atm as they have nowhere to train. Also been told that when flickers denied his construction company has done any work thats been carried out that was a lie and it has. Been also told that carol is running out of cash and its hardly at the club anymore. I know ill get <ovf censored> for this post but just what ive been told .

Is anyone local and can confirm if they have or not been training

    I can't believe he's not gone.

I was thinking about this it is so mental that he hasnt and it got me thinking with him being offered his first managerial job do you think there is any chance we put in his contract that in January we could <ovf censored> him off if it wasnt going well without paying compo. Thats the only reason i can think of that we havent pulled the trigger. If that isnt the case im beginning to grow more and more unhappy with decision making at the top of the club.
