Quote from AC's press interview - “We’ve been looking and talking to people. There’s areas where we need to get better."
Previously, after the Charlton game, he talked mainly about defensive deficiences - so I wouldn't be surprised to see defenders coming in, or defensively minded players.

Thomas has been recalled by Swansea - no great shock, I guess.

Goalscoring midfielder in; goalscoring midfielder (Gazza) out? I blinking hope not!
It covers a few scenarios. Assuming Garrity is out for a while, that gives Weir a clear run in his role. If he’s any good, then it would soften the blow of a BG departure. If he’s not, then we pursue other options etc.- 1

Given the extra injuries (Garrity/Devine/Debrah) in the Carlisle game, moves for Conlon/Cass may be put on hold as they might be needed to make up the numbers against Charlton - at the risk of them also getting injured and not sold though…

Dan Jones may be leaving in a few weeks.
I wonder whether, given the radio silence about him, he’s considering packing in. -
Whether AC stays or goes, we need to (at least start to) address the weaknesses in the team in January - if AC does that, then, it saves us the cost of compensation. If he goes, a new manager would be faced with the same issues - I can’t imagine that there’d be a big change in footballing philosophy in the club, so the recruitment issues and priorities aren’t going to change much from what they are now.
Either way, it’s a call of nerve and risk. I’m guessing that January will be busy. -
Askey back in the league at Hartlepool - had my Newcastle mate messaging me this afternoon about what to expect. I said “4-3-3” mainly - and lots of former players…

It makes sense in terms of his career progression - be interesting to see how he goes on at that level.
