I think Lowe has being doing pretty well - he's probably playing more than I thought he would though! Not a bad squad option, but I would like to bring a L1 CB version of him into the squad - someone that is actually a centre back, vocal, good organiser + that's played a lot in L1/Champ. Appreciate there might be a few looking for that though! Just think we're a bit naive/inexperienced at times (especially yesterday!).

I think there is a physical presence like a Tom Pope, with a good first touch and technically good "for a big man", and then a physical presence like a Mama Sidibe under Pulis-Ball whose main job was just to run and battle and be a battering ram. You have to play to their strengths with someone like Uche. Asking him to play tika-taka is a bit like asking Lionel Messi to be a target man.

Not been reported anywhere I don't think, but McDermott is back at Vale now. Was this only a 1 month loan? Or has he been sent back? Can't see if he's played much. Danger of him drifting into obscurity.

I liked him a lot in L2, but not for £150k, and definitely not for £500k! Reminds me of Jordan Hugill in the way he's physical and puts himself about. Wonder what Carlisle have paid? Didn't think they'd have any sort of cash!

I just get really frustrated at what I'm seeing on social media and in the stands. He's the new scapegoat and Vale fans always have to have one! What chances have we created for him? How many balls have our midfield played through for him to have a 1 on 1? How many times has a wide player picked him out in the box? How many times has someone set him up to have a shot on goal? He's playing off scraps. Same as Uche.

Strikers at our level are rarely a case of "he's scored for them, so he will score for us". It's about the style of football. ie what type of chances do we create? If we create chances in the air, get a Pope v2. If we create 1 on 1's, get a Louis Dodds v2 etc. However, I'm not really sure what type of chances we create!
