Without question I want our current owner to stay , however we need a new DOF and if there is an investment partner out there that Carol can work with bring them on board
I too want the current owners to stay, but don’t think we need a DOF at all.

Off topic guys but does anyone know if they do the fan zone at the midweek games? Been a while since I’ve been a game under the lights apart from Middlesbrough & was wondering for Tuesday next week as I honestly can’t remember 😅
Yes they do.

Lewis Cass scored for Stockport today on his full debut. Would you believe it.
Yep, and Proctor got sent off.

Your first sentence is patently wrong. If I give someone a job it’s in the belief that they’ve earned their chance, usually, in this case, by having a proven good track record in football, as was the case with DC. But it’s not simply an individuals CV, there are also many other factors which come into play. In Crosbys case the club knew the character of the man and already had trust in him. They obviously thought his coaching and man management skills were good, having observed them first hand. He knew the workings of the club and the blue print. He knew the players and they seemingly had a lot of respect for him. You only have to listen to Ojo in his latest interview. The club decided to offer Crosby the role based on these factors. It was less of a risk than employing a manager based on his CV, an interview and a few recommendations, which is where we are right now. Whoever gets the job will have “earned their chance” in the eyes of the club. There’s a lot of pressure to get it right but one look at them lot down the road will tell you all you need to know about how easy it is to recruit a successful manager in football.
You are not supposed to talk sense on here.

Makes business sense if you have planned into the forecast this will need to be paid back over x years and not a the determent to the team on the pitch. Sorry you can't have a player as we have to pay back our super screen.
The advertising on it probably covers the repayments.

Is it that we had to get a loan for the scoreboard, or took up the option of a loan that then allows expenditure in other areas? If it's the latter, surely that's just good business sense.
Agree, if it’s interest free why would we stump up the full amount up front.

Conlon was no where near L1 level, hence why he's ended up in the conference. He isn't the answer to our problems
He’s a lot better than conference level.

While I'm broadly supportive of the loan policy, I do think that rather than going for Gore, we may have been wiser in getting an experienced midfielder who would be a no nonsense holding player and quite physical, to give the back three some protection and stop us being overran
Someone like Tom Conlon maybe.

I don’t begrudge any player wanting to play at a higher level, but when it’s a team in the same division it’s a bit galling.

We were rubbish, boring and slow playing that possession football which is why we went on a real bad run.
Against Northampton it was boring.
Once it got changed, everything took a step up & the fans were getting excited & behind it which to be fair, the fans were really getting disgruntled leading up to it.
I have mentioned this quite a few times already but the way that we started to play was stumbled on at half-time against Barnsley because Crosby was no doubt on the verge being sacked & and he gave up his believes to save his backside in that 15 minute half time break.
Not often I agree with you but in this case I do agree, he ditched it because he knew he was getting close to being sacked.

Was it a result of Blades recalling Ollie? We needed him back straight away?
Good thinking, quite possibly that’s the reason.

he's been recalled what don't you get?
So he goes out on loan then 2 days later he’s recalled?

Don’t get it, they announced last week that shorrock had joined Stafford rangers, since then he’s playing in 2 games for vale

Not a great ball but Balmer should deal with it easily. Certainly shouldn’t have been brushed aside as easily as he was.
He’d have been better off letting it go out for a throw.

I actually thought we played some decent stuff in the second half and the stats - bar the goals - are in Vale’s favour however that does hide a woeful first half and you just cannot expect to get any points from a game where you defend as we did in the first half.
I agree, but why did Crosby wait till we were 0-3 down before changing it, if he had changed it sooner, before it was too late, we’d have got a point today.Lomax did more than Massey has in the last 3 games, also beginning to think Ripley isn’t as good as he thinks he is, he never moved for the first goal.
