Ellis sums up how poor our recruitment has been.  He was our player and we let him go to downgrade to Loft and Uche.

Ellis goes on to be a bit part player in a League 2 squad scoring 7 goals, where he is still head and shoulders above what we’ve got up top, and would have been a nailed on starter here.

And I will add Marty Taylor who has scored again for Cheltenham - his 6th since January despite also having a spell out injured.

I aren't sure how many games he has played at MK but I do think we missed him

I don’t wish to get rid of the woman , nor do I like to see her being abused on social media. That’s wrong , but she is to be criticized for the handling of the club in the last 18months.
We will see how the summer goes though, and hopefully she can climb down off the corporate high horse that she is on , despite her latest attempt to communicate with the fans.

That’s it for me too.  Another quote was we Win or we learn- we don’t seem to have done much of either in the last 18 months!

What could she have said different ..??

Here's a challenge for you - go and get her letter and rewrite it completely as you believe it should be written and post it here.

    Looking forward to it.

Covered in my post and Wozzas.  DF and previous condescending tone.

pointless writing a letter - Carols had 2 goes herself and is obviously happy she’s addressed it to her satisfaction.

i look forward to your other end of the D-Road response, however will still be buying 4 season tickets and will continue to support 5he club.

It's the sign of a bad leader when they can't admit to their mistakes.

We all know appointing Flitcroft WAS a mistake.

We all know that patronising letter belittling Vale fans WAS a mistake.

She's really missed a trick not apologising for those, which I think would have got the majority of Vale fan back on her side.

    Agreed.

By so publicly saying Flitcroft was NOT a mistake last time for this latest statement to mean anything it had to be covered, as well as the condescending tone of the last one.   It’s like receiving a letter of complaint but then totally ignoring what the complaint was about in your response!

This statement was not knocked up after the final whistle, it would have been typed and ready to go after much consideration as to the wording.

It does not admit to mistakes not covered in the last statement, which for me makes this a ‘save face without backing down’ response.  It only adds apologies for the results, which in themselves I do not blame Carol for - but does not address the issues that we were all warning her about that led to these poor results and ultimately surrendering our League 1 statues without a whimper.

in summary, a Corporate rather than heartfelt apology for me - CS probably still thinks she was right in her initial response, and has not backtracked from it one iota with this latest missive - which in turn raises concerns regarding future strategy setting!

For me there’s one gaping hole in her statement that leaves me some way short of getting back on board. Nowhere does she say backing Flitcroft was a mistake and nowhere does she apologise specifically for her previous ‘open letter’ where she had a really good go at belittling Vale fans.

Her ‘mistakes’ have had too big a consequence for a generic apology to suffice.

Nailed it.  Only actually apologised for results and other ‘non specific’ mistakes.

Happy to tell us in the last letter in no uncertain terms that Flitcroft certainly was not a mistake, and this comment that grated with most fans has certainly not been retracted.

That, and the general tone still leave a very bitter taste and after this latest letter still remain firmly on the table.

Could we take that as - I want to get rid of the dross I have inherited and I want to bring my players in.  There are some good players here, but Fraudcroft you brought some real sihte players in.

Lots of talk about getting the structure right first - new D of F / Head of Recruitment?

Yes, it was around January 2023 when strange things started to happen at the club. This being a classic example. It's a bit simplistic to say it was all Flitcroft's doing. Whatever the root cause all the pigeons are coming home to roost now.

It started when DC went off script by saying we’d had an awful January window just days after Madame Chair had done the Corporate Glossy staged propaganda of what a good window we’d had.

He was no longer ‘on the bus’ and had to be removed.  Sometimes Carol someone else on the bus might just have a better view and can see the cliff edge!

Everything since has been big brother speak telling us what we should be thinking of what’s going on, and should ignore what we can see going on, culminating in the ‘don’t you dare say that about my Flicker’ defence document.

To date she has not redacted from formally this written statement - probably because she still thinks she was correct, but ultimately he had to go to negate any negative press, and to hopefully help shift season tickets.  Even SMURF was big enough to say the Bruno experiment was all on him, even if The Shanahans and us ultimately paid the price.

We will be going down as the squad is bottlers, no good, what more can you say after saturdays 2nd half collapse.  Oh yes phenomenal, championship ready and all those good fraudcroft quotes.

To be fair those 2 quotes were direct from our Chairperson herself

It’s not even the worst since 2015.

Has everyone forgotten finishing 20th in League 2?

Tbh Joe I think this lot would struggle to finish 20th in Div4.  Since Ollie and Alfie left and with Willo sadly injured again we lack any real creativity to continually create chances and ultimately win games.  Couple that with no natural finishers and comic cuts defenders this lot would not prosper in the League below.

  11. Phenomenal remember - us naughty riff raff in the cheap seats were told that we were all wrong!

All that money spent to take us back where started, but with a worse squad than the famous ‘deadwood collection’.

still at least we got an MBE and a few accolades so not all bad eh Carol?

Football finances are spiralling out of control.

If clubs start giving £2k a week to a £1k a week player, other clubs either have to follow suit, or be left with the dregs and relegation.

    This repeats for years.

We're in a position now where every club is losing money every season.

You either do it and lose money, or spend within your means and get relegated.

Your recruitment has got to be elite level to buck this trend which is easier said than done.

We will have managed to both lose money AND get relegated

Just to start it off I have a good friend who has watched a player at Altrincham a lot and he is raving about Conn-Clarke(He thinks Peterborough among many others have been watching him) Boro snapped up the lad from Barnet if i remember rightly who has since shone for them... possible target should Chislett leave?

Will fit in  at The Posh - they go for double barrelled surnames quite a bit
