  1. The Sentinel newspaper claims that Shaun Brisley, Mark Cullen and Cristian Montano are close to agreeing new deals. The three have been important figures in the Valiants squad last season and were three of seven players to be offered new contracts in the summer.   6. Port Vale Chief Executive Colin Garlick has confirmed to the Sentinel newspaper that veteran midfielder Luke Joyce has agreed a 12 month contract extension. Joyce’s contract clause allowed him to sign an extension to his current deal which expired this summer and the midfielder has agreed a 12 month extension.   8. Port Vale manager John Askey has told the Sentinel newspaper that he would be interested in having loan duo Mitch Clark and Jake Taylor in his squad next season. Taylor and Clark have both returned to their parent clubs after succesful loan spells with the Valiants. Full-back Clark joined for a second loan spell while midfielder Taylor impressed enough that Vale made an unsuccessful permanent bid in January.
