A tweet from the club revealed that the club have been talking to potential goalkeeper signings.
The first-team squad are in Spain for a training camp but a tweet showed Director of Football David Flitcroft, manager Darrell Clarke and goalkeeping coach Carlo Nash in a Zoom call with a potential recruit:

The Valiants have just Aidan Stone as a first-team goalkeeper and will be looking for competition for the youngster.

10 May 2021: Port Vale release goalkeepers Dino Visser and Scott Brown as their retained list is announced.
23 June 2021: Port Vale sign former Torquay Utd goalkeeper Lucas Covolan on a two year deal.
25 June 2021: Port Vale sign former Mansfield keeper Aidan Stone on a one-year deal.
7 August 2021: Covolan starts as first choice but is sent-off during the opening game of the season.
15 January 2022: Covolan is sent-off for a second time after kicking Swindon forward Harry McKirdy. A furious Darrell Clarke said after the match that “he has got to learn from that otherwise he won’t be staying at the club for very long.” Covolan doesn’t play for the first-team again.
27 January 2022: Port Vale sign Tomas Holy on loan from Ipswich Town.
12 March 2022: Holy loses his place to Aidan Stone who is retained as number one for the remainder of the season including a play-off semi-final penalty shootout win over Swindon and the play-off final win over Mansfield Town.
5 May 2022: Holy is released by Ipswich and leaves the Valiants with Covolan acting as back-up to Stone.
21 June 2022: Stone signs a two year contract extension with the Valiants taking him to 2024.
5 July 2022: Lucas Covolan agrees a season-long loan to Chesterfield, taking him to the end of his Vale contract in a move which will probably signal the end of his Vale career.
It’s definitely a must to sign a goalkeeper, but what’s happening about more new players to be signed up,the season starts in a few weeks,so hopefully we must have new players arriving soon!
