Port Vale won their latest friendly game as they recorded a 1-0 win over Real Murcia during their Spanish training camp.
Vale’s social media accounts criticised their opponents, from the Spanish third tier after a number of heavy challenges during the game. One challenge was labelled as “disgusting” as “tempers flared.”
A goal from Jordan Gabriel in the first-half settled the tie. Gabriel was sent through after a sensational through ball from midfielder George Byers.
The Spanish side pressed for an equaliser in the second-half but goalkeeper Jackson Smith was in good form to deny them. Vale also got a second in the closing stages when sub Oli Lynch was denied.
There was also a first outing for summer signing Max Watters who played just under half an hour.mFive players were booked in total including Vale players Rhys Walters and Jordan Gabriel.
