Match details

Details:
Carlisle United v Port Vale
League Two
Brunton Park
Tuesday February 8th, 2022, 7.45pm
Last time we met?
It ended in a goalless draw at Vale Park at the start of this season. The Valiants did hit the woodwork twice though.
Overall record:
14 Vale wins, 12 draws and 15 defeats.

Valiants team news
Will we see any changes after the battling 1-1 home draw against Forest Green Rovers and the postponed game against Salford? It’s unlikely unless Darrell Clarke opts to rest any players through the relentless two games a week period.
It’s therefore likely that impressive loanee Ryan Edmondson will start upfront alongside former Salford man James Wilson. New signings Harry Charsley, Joel Cooper and Sammy Robinson may all have to be content with a place on the bench.
Captain Tom Conlon, defender James Gibbons, Jake Taylor and Jamie Proctor are all likely to remain sidelined with injury.

Opposition team news
Carlisle were also victims of the weather at the weekend as their game against Rochdale was postponed. It means a number of transfer window signings may feature in this game with Kristian Dennis, Jamie Devitt, Tobi Sho-Silva, Owen Windsor and Mitchell Roberts hoping to be in the squad.
Man in charge: Keith Millen
- Age: 55
- Games in charge: 19
- Win ratio: 31%
Best known for a fifty game spell as manager of Bristol City, Millen was appointed in October following the departure of Chris Beech.

89 Port Vale appearances / 9 goals
He’s not sure of a starting place but 30 year-old David Amoo could face a club for whom he featured for two years between 2013 and 2015. Amoo joined Carlisle from Tranmere Rovers but he was released in 2015 after suffering a serious injury. Amoo joined the Valiants in 2019 and has made 23 appearances this season.
On the opposing side, former loanee Callum Guy could face the Valiants.
There have been other players to feature for both sides in recent seasons including Harry McKirdy, striker Richie Bennett and defensive midfielder Luke Joyce.

Their rise to the top-flight was called “the greatest feat in the history of the game” by no less than Bill Shankly.
