In a stirring message to supporters, manager Jon Brady says he will “give absolutely everything” to “move this football club forward again.”
In a video clip launched to coincide with the club’s season ticket press release, Brady addresses supporters directly and promises them that “work has already started” to turn the club’s fortunes around and that he understands if fans are still doubtful.
The Australian was appointed Port Vale manager in January 2026 following the departure of Darren Moore. He had previously been in charge at Northampton Town between 2021 and 2024 taking charge of exactly 200 games. He guided Town to promotion to League One in 2023.
He oversaw back-to-back wins in his first two games in charge of the Valiants, both were cup fixtures.

Jon Brady’s message to the fans
Since I came into this football club one thing’s obvious straight away. You care. You travel in your numbers. You turn up. You demand high standards. That’s exactly how I see football as well.
This season hasn’t been anywhere near what any of us wanted it to be. Not for you. Not for the players and certainly not for me.
But I can promise you this. There will be no hiding. Success doesn’t happen by accident. You start with a blueprint, you lay the foundations, you put the right people in place. That work has already started.
Building a team that runs hard and fights even harder. Representing this football club the way it should be. A team that gives you something to believe in. Scrapping for every ball, fighting for the badge, that’s our job.
And I’ve seen what this place can be like when everyone’s together. You’ve seen it on the pitch. You’ve seen it in the big moments. That’s got to be the standard now. Not the exception. And then you build it together. If you’re with us – great. If you’re unsure – I understand that too.
But what I can tell you is this – we will give absolutely everything to move this football club forward again. That’s the challenge, that’s the fight. Are you up for it because you can bet everything you’ve got that we certainly are.

The lad is saying similar to what he’s been saying since his arrival. The vast majority of fans will be back next season no matter what, because it’s what football fans do. But the proof of the pudding will be in the eating, and that’s a case of waiting to see what’s served up!
