Swiss striker was signed by Port Vale for an undisclosed fee from Aldershot Town in the summer of 2024. The forward had been prolific the previous campaign with 25 goals in all competitions.

Speaking of the signing, manager Darren Moore said: “Lorent is a player that we’ve kept tabs on for quite a while now and I am absolutely delighted that he has decided to commit his future to the club amidst strong interest from other clubs at this level and above.

“He is a player with an obvious eye for goal, capable of scoring goals in a range of different ways and a tenacious style of play that I’m sure our supporters will be appreciative of.

“We are all looking forward to welcoming Lorent into our squad and working closely with him as we head towards next season.”

After a slow start to his career, Tolaj had a superb second-half of the campaign, ending as top-scorer as the club won promotion.

In 2025, he was duly sold to Plymouth Argyle for a fee believed to be £1.2m.
