Port Vale striker Baylee Dipepa has been named in the England U17 squad for their European Championships campaign this summer.
The call-up caps a whirlwind rise for the youngster. Unknown at the start of the season, the local youngster has burst into the first-team picture, featuring regularly in the final third of the season and scoring two League goals. The 17 year-old scored three times on England U17 duty and it’s therefore no surprise to see him named in the squad. The striker has also been linked with a potential move to Premier League side Manchester United.
England are one of 16 teams in the Finals which take place between 20th May and 5th June.
They play three group stage games, starting against France at the Ammochostos Epistrofi Stadium, in Larnaca on Tuesday evening (6.30pm BST).
Next up is a clash with Portugal at the same venue on Friday 24 May (6.30pm BST), before they take on Spain at the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium in Larnaca on Monday 27 May (6.30pm BST) in their final group match.
