Port Vale Women manager Henry Knight has announced his departure in order to coach in the United States. Knight joined in 2022 and took the side to their highest points total so far. The club has wished Knight all the best.

Shrewsbury award for Benning
Shrewsbury Town manager Paul Hurst has praised full-back Mal Benning after he was named the club’s player of the month for January. Hurst told the local media – “He can be pleased – I know that he will want more of the same – but he has done well.” Benning, who scored in Port Vale’s memorable play-off final win over Mansfield in 2022 left the Valiants in the summer to join Shrewsbury.
Taylor has praise for Clarke
Former Vale loan striker Matty Taylor has told the local media he enjoys playing under former Vale manager Darrell Clarke at Cheltenham. The former Vale duo linked up for the third time in January and Taylor has already repaid Clarke’s faith with two goals. The pair are set to face Vale on Saturday and Taylor told the local press: “I love playing for the gaffer first and foremost. His style of play brings out the best in me, which is shown in the goals I’ve scored under him.”
