Port Vale drawn at home against Middlesbrough in Football League Cup quarter-finals
Port Vale have been drawn at home against Championship side Middlesbrough in the Football League Cup quarter-finals.
The draw was bafflingly delayed for over 45 minutes on Sky Sports with Vale fans anxiously waiting to see who their team would play next.
The Valiants reached the final eight for the first time in their history after they defeated Mansfield Town 1-0 in the fourth round. Vale had previously beaten Fleetwood Town, Crewe Alexandra and Sutton United in the competition this season.
The Vale’s previous best in the tournament was a 3-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the final sixteen back in 2006. The quarter-final ties will take place week commencing the 18th December.
