We’re asking a very simple question – who has performed best in a Port Vale shirt in the opening games of the 2023-24 season.

Our criteria is that players must have made at least four starts in the League for the club.

The “blaster” has been a revelation.Long may it continue

: 1920 Right-half Joe Wheatley is born.; 1982 Winger Chris Shuker is born.; 2003 John Durnin, Phil Charnock, Rae Ingram, Sean McClare and Ian Brightwell and Matt Carragher are released by Port Vale.; 2005 Port Vale manager Martin Foyle releases players Ian Armstrong, Simon Eldershaw, Ryan Brown, Christian Hanson and Levi Reid.; 2007 George Abbey, Nathan Lowndes, Michael Husbands, Rhys Weston, Christian Smith, Ross Gardner and Mark Soboljew are released by Port Vale.; 2011 John McCombe is named as the Port Vale player of the year.; 2015 Port Vale release Chris Robertson, Alex Nimely and Kaid Mohamed.; 2023 Port Vale release six players including Tom Pett, Jamie Proctor and Sammy Robinson.
