A good point earned – Andy Crosby on draw with Cambridge United
Port Vale manager Andy Crosby was pleased by the team earning a draw at Cambridge but felt that a more “ruthless” Vale performance could have won the game.
The Valiants took the lead through Ben Garrity only for Cambridge to equalise and be denied the lead thanks to a penalty save by Connor Ripley.
Crosby told the media: “A good point earned away from home. I thought we had control of the first-half and created chances. We changed the way we built up slightly to use the strength of our team. We could have taken the game away from Cambridge.
“They get themselves back in the game. They put you under pressure but I thought we stood up to it really well.
“Delighted for really long spells of the first-half (but it was) disappointing for me that we weren’t ruthless enough.”

Sensible comments but just need someone to put the ball in the net. Pity the window is closed now.
