Port Vale manager Andy Crosby says the club is “ready to act” if the right signing becomes available in the summer transfer window.
The Valiants have revamped their squad over the summer – with some signings such as Connor Ripley, Ethan Chislett and Oliver Arblaster receiving praise for their performances. However, Vale continue to look lightweight upfront with just injured Ellis Harrison, James Wilson and loanee Josh Thomas as centre forward options.
We are still actively looking and having conversations to improve competition and looking to improve numbers in the squad…
The Valiants have been linked with the likes of Ryan Loft and George Miller on social media in recent weeks and Crosby told the media: “If the right player becomes available we will be ready to act. We are still actively looking and having conversations to improve competition and looking to improve numbers in the squad.
“We would like to bring someone in and in an ideal world would have liked to have our full squad available from day dot at the start of pre-season.
“It’s not the case so when the window closes we will have the group we’ve got. I’m delighted with who we have brought in so far. Their application and their effort and how they have grown together on and off the pitch.”
