Port Vale transfer rumour: veteran International goalkeeper linked to Valiants
Newspaper the Oldham Times claims that veteran goalkeeper Jayson Leutwiler is expected to complete a move to Vale Park this week.
Jayson Leutwiler is understood to have had a similar conversation after falling down the goalkeeping pecking order since the arrival of Mat Hudson from Buxton, and is expected to complete a move to Port Vale this week.
The Valiants have revamped their goalkeeping department over the summer. Former Morecambe man Connor Ripley is expected to be the undisputed number one and that move prompted Aidan Stone to leave for Notts County, leaving the Valiants looking for a back-up for Ripley.
If this story is true, it looks like Vale have opted for an experienced back-up option rather than going down the loan route.
Leutwiler, aged 34, has three caps for the Canada International team and has made 250 career appearances including 140 for Shrewsbury Town in Leagues One and Two.
