Port Vale have announced that they have signed former Morecambe keeper Connor Ripley on a two year deal.
The Valiants were in the market for a new goalkeeper having released Lucas Covolan in the summer and seeing loanee Jack Stevens return to parent club Oxford United. It left Aidan Stone as the club’s only senior keeper.
Ripley joins Tom Sang who joined the club earlier this month.
The goalkeeper was named as Morecambe’s player of the season for 2022-23 but was released when the club were relegated.
On joining the club the goalkeeper told the official website: “I am really happy to sign for the club. I’ve known that Port Vale were interested in me for a while and we have been in touch with the club over the off-season and I am really happy to finally get it done.
“The conversations with Andy Crosby and Dave Flitcroft about where the club is heading and wants to go made it something that I wanted to be a part of.
“They said that they want more experience at the back and that’s something that I can definitely bring to the table.”
