The great atmosphere among the fans at Vale Park was ruined after the first fifteen minutes. Whereas the goal should have spurred us on to a comfortable victory it had the opposite effect and the team went to pieces. Darrell Clarke’s substitutions were quite a mystery especially taking Garrity off, and Vale also lost the effectiveness of Dan Jones’s throw-ins.

But the biggest mystery is that Darrell Clarke seems to be the only person at Vale Park who thinks that Worrall is a wing fullback when everybody else knows that he is a very effective wing forward. It’s a worry that Mr Clarke is so obstinate in the way that he is selecting the team and his compulsion to be always making so many changes. Yes we are missing Leggy. Martin and Benning had shockers but remained on the field.

Come on Vale you have enough people in place to spot the problems – the fans have certainly noticed. I’m afraid that Carol Shanahan will have to call in her Director of Football and the Team Manager and have some serious words with them.

Not much say enjoyed the remembrance of all the fine supporters we have lost but never forgotten ,loved seeing a decent home crowd and first 15 to 20 minutes we looked hungry and fantastic scored 1 should have been game over after that period then I do not know what happened it was tge sublime to the ridiculous giving free headers in the box not working hard enough space galore for the opposition it was almost like we have showed you what we can do for 20 mins but that’s all your getting as we can just stroll through the rest of the game even then at 2-2 we did the same again not closing down strolling around like its a weekly walk while Rochdale passed it moved and deservedly took the game .
