Port Vale Supporters Club: John Rudge statue plans, Lorne St stand appeal restarted and Tom Pope testimonial
The Port Vale Supporters Club have made a series of announcements about initiatives for the football club including plans for a statue for club legend John Rudge.
John Rudge statue plans announced
The Supporters Club have announced plans to build a statue for legendary manager John Rudge, recetly given the contribution to football award by the Football League, the club’s longest serving manager, current club president and winner of three promotions plus the club’s first domestic trophy.

Restarting the Lorne St concourse appeal
The Supporters Club are restarting efforts to raise £100,000 to complete the Lorne St stand concourse and complete the stand. An interview with Supporters Club chair Mark Porter is below:

The third announcement is a series of testimonial events for long-serving Tom Pope, the club’s post-war record goalscorer.
The final announcement of the day, @ValeSupporters club are putting together a committee to honour Port Vale legend Tom Pope with a testimonial season, comprising of 3 events a golf day, a dinner with Tom (Feed the Pope), culminating in a testimonial game @OfficialPVFC #pvfc
