Port Vale striker Tom Pope moves to non-league side
Port Vale post-war scoring record holder Tom Pope has agreed to move to non-league side Congleton Town.
The Valiants cult hero joins former team mate Gary Roberts in moving to Congleton. Town are managed by former Port Vale player Richard Duffy.
36 year-old Pope was one of fifteen players to be released by the club at the end of the season. He scored 115 goals during three spells with the club.
Pope had been training with Congleton since his release from the Valiants.
