Port Vale sign winger Harry McKirdy
Port Vale sign Harry McKirdy: Port Vale have confirmed the signing of winger Harry McKirdy after a successful trial at the club.
The Valiants were looking for a winger to replace the departed Rhys Browne, who left the club for personal reasons recently.
McKirdy had a prolific season with Carlisle United last season, netting eleven goals in all competitions, before he was surprisingly released at the end of the season.
He had been training with the Valiants in recent weeks as he looked to find a new club and following Browne’s departure, McKirdy has agreed a one year deal. He will compete with the likes of David Worrall, David Amoo and Cristian Montano for a place on the wing during the 2020-21 season.
Vale’s chief executive Colin Garlick commented on the move and told the media: “This is a young man who knows where the goal is.
“We have made some quality additions to the squad and that should conclude our business in the transfer window.”
