National League side sign former Port Vale forward duo
Barrow AFC have announced the double signing of strikers Scott Quigley and Dior Angus.
Former Port Vale loanee Scott Quigley has signed on a three-year contract after being released by League One side Blackpool. He had an unsuccessful loan spell at Vale under Neil Aspin, scoring just once in thirteen appearances before he spent the second half of the last campaign on loan at FC Halifax Town.
Striker Dior Angus arrived at the Bluebirds on loan from the Valiants in January and scored two goals in 11 appearances, with his performances enough for manager Ian Evatt to bring him in on a one-year deal, with an option for another season on top of that.
Angus signed an 18 month contract with the Valiants in January 2018. Ater a spell on loan at Tamworth, Angus scored his first goal for Vale against Carlisle United in April 2018, but only made one more senior appearance for his parent club.
After scoring 13 goals at Nuneaton Borough while out on loan in the first half of last season, but was one of nine players to be released by Vale at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, fellow National League side Harrogate Town have snapped up former Port Vale midfielder Scott Brown, 34, on a free transfer. Brown made twelve appearances for the Valiants in 2009. He was released by Accrington at the end of the season.
